Well BM, you could be like me. Brother in law right next door, parents in law at the end of our block, and my parents three miles away.

Abandon the house! Leave lots of mail bulging out of the box and sixteen newspapers on the front steps!

Isn't taking care of Grandma Bowlderson's job while you and Mrs. Bowlderman go out Christmas shopping or something?

So my options appear to be:

1. Let Mr. Hyde "watch" her.

2. Something alcohol-related, although the suggestion wasn't clear whether I ingest it, I serve it to her, or both.

3. Invite her (and, presumably, Dad) to move back to the area - indeed, to our street.

4. Run away.

5. Use the blowhorn.

6. Let BowlderSon "watch" her.

OK, these are some good options, and some of them could even be combined, like get drunk, lock her up with Mr. Hyde and BowlderSon, then go shopping!

when mine comes i make sure every minute of the day is planned with something, that way you don't have to make small talk and at the end of the day she's tired and just wants to go to bed when you get home

Take her snipe hunting.

Take her to Loon Lake and strap her to a snowboard.

Just a couple more ideas for ya ;)

My mother in law arrived a few hours ago. I went from likely backpacking with my son and bailing due to weather to spending the weekend with my mother in law.

Hah! I did AirZooka her, smiley! Sure, I was just demonstrating the thing when we were talking about Mr. Hyde (they have 2 cats), but still - whoosh!

BowlderMom arrived as planned yesterday; so far so good. Still asleep right now. Must plan interesting activities with plenty of opportunities for surreptitious smoke breaks....

Survived morning. Breakfast at diner. Tour of BowlderSon's school. Toured town. Fixed door broken by mom. Shopped. Lunch. Now it's naptime. More later....

How long is she staying? If it's anything less than a month you'll get NO sympathy from me.
My Mom comes down and stays for a month; this year she's talking 2 months! AACK!!!

Gone Monday, Tango! Actually, it's great - she's never stayed with us before. A little stress here and there but not bad.

Just back from delicious dinner out. Watching TIVO'd Survivor in a few minutes. Will report any developments, like if we vote her out....
