Canada Bans Handguns

“Well folks....it have finally happened. The pathetic minority Liberal govt' (Hanging on by a thread) of Canada have proposed to ban handguns...don't know if it's the banning of the selling and buying of handguns...or the right to own handguns.

After seven or more years of forcing gun owners to re-registered their firearms....and $2 billion later....with no reduction in criminals using their guns, the govt' is going to make law abiding gun owners suffer more.

1st step) Register you firearms (so we will know where to go to take them....).....
2nd step) Ban handguns....
3rd step(?) Confiscate handguns....
4th step(?) Ban rifles and shotguns....
5th step(?)Confiscate rifles and shotguns....

Now criminals will have no worries about breaking into any house. Home invasions have increased in the last three years already.

We're difinitely in a Police State.

“Sure you can. All it takes is finding one that's the right fit, getting accustomed to the recoil, and getting some practice. There are shotguns that are suitable for someone with a smaller frame. I recommend checking out some clubs in your area, see if there are any classes or instructors willing to work with you. I bet you'll find plenty of people willing to help. There are probably even womens only clubs in your area.”

I've been registering my handguns in NY for the last 30 years with no ill effect. For home protection, I prefer a shotgun with birdshot. I use an eight shot 12ga. Dissapates quickly (so it's unlikely to penetrate walls to kill family members or neighbors) but VERY effective at close range.

Few are willing to challenge a shotgun.

I carry a .410 (3" shell) for hiking in a double barrel derringer. This will also chamber .45 long colt (old west cartridge) too. Now THAT has a little kick.”

“Carlette, for home defense just get a 12 gauge pump with a short barrel. They make models like that for the purpose...tuck the stock under your arm and let fly..you'll hit anywhere in the general direction you point, no worry about aim.”

Guns are meant to protect your life or the life of another. For protecting your property simply call the cops. The is material possession that is worth getting into a gun battle over. Besides, in most states if you shoot someone for attempting to steal from you, it'll be YOU who's going to be put in the pokey and then poked in the putty.

“Fully automatic suppressed HK mp5. Fast 600rpm 9mm and if top load compensated absolutely no recoil. Suppressed for no muzzle flash. suppressed for no sound. But duct tape another magazine inverted to the first for rapid reload and practice doing so in a safe place with different body posture, ie around corners, while turning seated etc. But you will need a class 3 FFL.

Or you could just get a compensated 9mm. And the others are right. Get on the uspca.com or .org website to locate training in your area. They teach tactical pistol operation and usually are the friendliest people you'd ever meet. You cant expect to just scare someone with a shotgun you need to know how to use a pistol as it is the most versatile defense. A shotgun is also good but is difficult to quickly draw if caught offguard or in tight corridors.”

If it's at all possible in any case I'd try. Even if using your gun is eminant. Dial 911 and simply sit the phone down. At least everything is recorded and can help you in court. This is considering that you are trained and don't do something stupid in which case it will hang you. Forget it. Don't call. What's the old Public Enemy song?
