Anybody watching "Chopped" on the food channel? I started watching it and like it.

I've watched it a couple of times. It's pretty intense.

Speaking of which, we watched Gordon Ramsay's kitchen nightmares last night. It was at some east coast seafood restaurant...my god that place should have been condemned.

That girl is the co-star in "Yes Man", which was pretty lame. Her character was good though.

I read today that my favorite current t.v. show was cancelled. Life. It was an extremely well done cop show. At least it had the most kickass season finale I've seen.

I'll miss "The Unusuals" too.

“I've never seen it.â€

That was the problem. Too many B list celeb reality shows.

“There is no must see tv.â€

Got that right. There are not that many t.v. shows I like. I'm surprised Life didn't do better. But then I'm surprised by a lot of things...

It was similar to Mentalist, which is successful, only with better acting, better story and better characters. It kinda jumped the shark when they had to write the hottie partner out of the script cuz she was pregnant, but they resolved it really well.

It used to be the networks would let a series hang around and try to gain some ground. Now they are all looking for the next Lost. The instant hit. I don't have much time for tv. We just dropped Dish Network because we hardly watch and even then it was 95% Food Network (which sucks now anyway).

Burn Notice is like 'ex-spy working freelance'.

Damages...... hard core, man.   LOL   If you thought Glenn Close was scary in Fatal Attraction, she'll freeze your blood in this one.

They've completed two seasons on FX.

SO I was watching BBCA's "Natural Wonders of the World" series yesterday, narrated by David Attenborough, of course. I mean, who else will they get to do it? I was laughing my ass of at the segment about Yellowstone, and all of it's "geezers." I swear, that's how he pronounced "geyser" every time. I got a good laugh out of it.

caught the tail-end of a really good show last night: Mysteries of the Garden of Eden. they were speculating on how real events could have inspired the fictional stories of Genesis, such as melting glaciers at the end of the last ice age causing catastrophic flooding which inspired the story of the flood of Gilgamesh, which in turn inspired the story of Noah's ark. fascinating stuff.

also, eating of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was a metaphor for the transition from a hunter-gatherer society to an agricultural society. as early as 6000 years ago, man was creatively warning us about the perils of progress

Last week (or the week before) I caught the first 2 episodes of "Wild Russia." Wow. While they were there filming, Kamchatka's "Valley of the Geysers" was slowly filled up, by a slow-moving collapsing volcano. I forget the name of the second region, but I'd love to visit there, too.

http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/08/summer-of-fail-why-are-new-shows-bombing.html

Accumulated near the bottom of the ratings list are new programs like ABC's wonky "Grey's Anatomy"-in-space drama "Defying Gravity" (3.3 million viewers, 1.0 adults 18-49 rating); ABC's ironically titled "The Superstars" (3.8 million, 1.3); NBC's crime drama "The Listener" (4.7 million, 1.3); Fox's scripted psychological procedural "Mental" (4.6 million, 1.4 adults 18-49 rating); NBC's once-promising drama "The Philanthropist" (5.6 million, 1.4); the CW's relationship reality show "Hitched or Ditched" (1.4 million, 0.6); NBC's imported miniseries "Merlin" (4.8 million, 1.3); and NBC's "Great American Road Trip" (3.9 million, 1.1), or, as one publicist called it, "Great American Roadkill."

Wow almost as bad as the news shows.
