Winter Tent?View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 3 of 3 messages posted.
Advice “Going to california for Christmas and can get a great discount (cost plus 10%) at all SportsAuthority, Sprotmart, and Gart Sports shops. I know they aren't the greatest stores but they can occasionally have decent gear. Anyone recommend a 4 seasong tent. I haven't done much winter backcountry trips but looking to start. Any thoughts would be appreciated.” 11:31:22 PM 12/19/05 6:58:54 AM 12/20/05 “I have a Sierra Designs Tiros tent which is seriously hard core. It has never let me down but I only get to use it like twice a year. It's heavy as sin, something like 6 lbs, but once it's up it ain't going anywhere. I use the tent's back-door as the main entry/exit while I am camping and use the vestibule for storage of gear. It's too hard to get in and out of the tent climbing over your gear, but the vestibule is fairly large and you can cook in it, melt snow, etc if you don't like burning a stove in your tent. http://www.thebackpacker.com/gear/tents/sierra_designs_tiros.php” 8:30:41 AM 12/20/05
