Did you hear the news?
150 lbs of C-4, Det cord and detonators stolen from an explosives expert's business. Cut through the explosives magazine with a torch. Now why would anybody want that in poor ol' New Mexico? That is probably enought to turn NM into a giant dirty bomb if properly placed. BOKYA Good bye.

150 lbs. of C-4? That's nothing compared to the damage Lorax can generate with his static electrical nipple charges.

Deta can be a LOT more usefull than C-4....

cookie cutters can make the sheets into shape charges for small appications, and a cutting board and a box knife can cut larger shapes...Ribbon and diamond shapes for cutting steel beams....

Det Cord? use it in wraps around barrels or pipes to cut... three wraps around a 55 gallon drum will cut it in half.

OKAY!...so in keeping with the question what does this have to do with backpacking... pieces of C-4 can be lit with a match or lighter to boil water....when you are done cooking, just Stomp it out...(Uh...NOT). We'll be callin' you STUMPY!

So burning it or heating it up makes it more shock-sensitive?

Dirty bomb? why would you do that? The real danger is that this person can also get some enriched uranium, or more likely plutonium. Then it's simple to use the C4 and det cord to make an A-bomb.
