The kitty in picture #2....does she meow with a British accent?

And the Ironbridge toll....was that written by the same people that wrote our tax code?

Cool pics, Twinks. I'd love to go there.....someday!

LOL at Treebeard!

You guys should definately try to make it over there...though the dollar to the pound is total crap and makes for an expensive journey.

Stay away from the scab cake (black pudding) and homeless person pie (haggis). If you go to 'remote' spots in the off-season like we did...you won't see a phone (and if you do it's impossible to figure out how to use your phone cards), a television, nor many newspapers. It was cool being totally cut-off for a week. Of course in Edinburgh you have everything. Anyone ever seen Green Wing? Man...it's this crazy..absolutely nutty tv show. I think I'm still drunk....the water is crap over there and coffee is instant...so by noon you move on to eiether beer, cider, or other! The sweets were terrific. Chocolate pudding with fresh cream? To die for! Oh, did I mention they even fry their toast? Yummy but if you make it out of there without a heart attack you're doing very well.

I will not carry your rock hammer. Them things are heavy.

Bags of collected goodies; shouldn't you just call them what they are? Bags ‘O’ Rocks. 8p

I've dealt with geology types before. You people are weird. My cousin Sherpaman is a geologist. He drives around with rocks in the trunk of his car.

lol!

I'll have you know that I carry bags of fossils in addition to bags of rocks. So there. hehehehe Yeah, you know you're a bit crazy when you rent a car, drive half way over a country, brave opposite side of the road drdiving, freezing winds, collapsing cliffs, rising tides, etc all to collect a bunch of rocks with dead stuff inside!

Twinks, I drove a Skoda when I was in Ireland.
How 'bout them dinky cars?

What, like an inflatable kilted highlander complete with no drawers?

"...bags of collected goodies!"

Zac gets to carry the fossilized doo doo??

BTW: Whitby was where Dracula landed in England (in the form of a large hound) and Lucy used to meet him by the abbey ruins.

BTW2: Haggis is really delicious.

Sounds like it was a great trip and Zac's not the only one who's jealous.

Man urinates on dying woman, declaring it 'YouTube material'

From the "Annals of Modern Depravity" comes this sordid story:

Shouting, "This is YouTube material!" a 27-year-old British man urinated on a dying woman who had collapsed on the street, the BBC and local Hartepool Mail and Northern Echo tell us. He also doused her with a bucket of water and covered her with shaving cream.

The woman, 50-year-old Christine Lakinski, died at the scene of pancreatic failure.

In a sad sign of the times, it was all recorded on a mobile phone.

In court, Anthony Anderson said he had smoked a joint and been drinking with two friends when they spotted Lakinski. He faces jail after pleading guilty to "outraging public decency." Sentencing is set for Oct. 22.

"We will await the outcome and just hope he gets what he deserves," Lakinski's brother said after today's court hearing.

Anger over bid to silence bells

Residents believe the complainant is a village newcomer

The level of bell chimes of a Somerset church - which have rung day and night for 200 years - are to be measured after a complaint they were too loud.
Residents in Chedzoy believe the critic was a new resident of the village whose sleep was being disrupted.

One told BBC News: "I wonder if someone moved into Westminster Square, would they ask Big Ben to be silenced?"

Sedgemoor District Council said it was duty-bound to monitor the noise level, even after two centuries of tradition.

Council officer Malcolm Brooks said: "It doesn't really matter what the source of the noise is, we're obliged to investigate a complaint made to us.

"We have to treat each one equally and investigate it properly."
