Christmas time = Wulled Wine time. Anyone have a favorite Mulled Wine recipe? I just sorta look up a new one every year and can never remember what recipe I used last.

I think I'll have wine. No, maybe I'd better not. Hmmm.... OK, but just a little, I got to drive

(Mulled wine?)

Jackstraw & DX, here is a mulled wine recipe

2 bottles dry red wine
4 ounces port or brandy
12 whole cloves
4 cinnamon sticks
1 large orange, zested
Serving suggestion: Garnish with cinnamon sticks or freshly ground nutmeg

Combine ingredients in a large pot and bring to a simmer. Do not allow mixture to boil. Heat for 20 minutes and serve in a large, heat resistant punch bowl.

I've heard of mulled cider, but not mulled wine. Do you drink it warm or chilled?

Mulled wine is drank warm. I sorta just made up my own this year and it was a hit.

1.5l cheap Merlot (any cheap red will do).
1 1/2 cups of sugar
6 cinnamon sticks
1/4 tsp of allspice
12-14 whole cloves
2 Orange Spice tea bags

You don't boil mulled wine, you just want to keep it warmed just at teh point of boiling and let all the ingredients seep for about an hour. Tis yummy.

gluehwein is a mulled win.
