“the campsite is less than a mile from the road and you don't even have to hike in on the AT, you can hike in on a dirt road. The campsite is on a grassy field with a sweet panaramic view. No rocks at all to worry about.”

“I heard on the local news tonight that a hiker was injured at the Delaware Water Gap and needed to be rescued. They said he slipped on some ice on a hillside and fell into the creek below and suffered a head injury. I think I heard he was also treated for exposure from being soaked in the cold water.”

“Gizmo !! I met him when I was taking beer up to the shelter at Lehigh Gap for the Thru-hikers. He said I shouldnt do that. But he was overruled by the 5 thirsty thru-hikers who just hiked all day over the rocks in hot weather. He did stick around though, until I left with all the empties. I'm sure he remembers me.”

“There is no legal restriction on alcohol unless you're in a protected park, forest or recreation area. None of which will be the case here. We are also going to to have people hiking in and out so we're within the rules there too. As long as we're not getting crazy and busting up cars at the trailhead we should be just fine.”

I was thinking we could do a dayhike on Saturday around Dunfield (sp)Creek. I've heard tell that there's good hiking on some side trails up there. I'm open to other suggestions as well.
