BC: I'll contribute a titanium kettle. It's basically brand new. Email me where you want me to send it.

Here is a pic so you can decide if it's something you would want:

BC....So very sorry to hear about this! That really sucks...what a horrible thing for a person or persons to do. I am so sorry that happened to you. Do you have any leads as to who could have done this?
A lot of very nice kind people here to help you get back some of your gear.

Madeintahoe- nope, no leads. But yes, there are some very nice people here! Over the top nice and generous.

Jimmysan, that's a nice kettle, sure you don't want it?

Stovestomper, I have an alcohol stove that michiker made me, but I've never used it. I've always used canister stoves, I guess I just like the convenience of turning something on and off.

I think if someone showed me how to use an alcohol stove, I'd be more inclined to use one. I've never hiked with anyone who used one out here in the Sierra.

Hmmm, if I shredded it up it would make an excellent campfire starting material...

Sorry To Hear About This!
Yeah, I have car insurance, but my deductible probably won't make it worth the effort.”
BearCrossing

rates aren't usually effected by theft unless it's high dollar or a reoccurring problem...sounds like you're not exactly sure what your deductible is, it might be worth it just to look into it”
thriftyhiker

When I had my back window smashed out and the back speaker and boxes stolen the insurance guy said if they weren't attached to the car then my insurance wouldn't pay for it (would only pay for the vehicle damage). Fortunately, I had drilled holes and bolt and wingnutted the speakers to the back dashboard (which also got ripped up) which qualified me for compensation of the speakers.

Regardless, I'd find out if you can get compensated, if only for the vehicle damage.

Sacco and Chappy, you guys are awesome :) I have plans to head over to the coast this weekend to go hiking and the things you sent (compass, leatherman, headlamp, and stuff sack) are definitely going to come in handy!

Thanks a whole bunch!
