New Toy!..non bping

“My computer nightmare before Christmas was began, among other reasons, when I couldn't access Itunes. So, when said computer was clean again, I returned to iTunes. Last year my brother (Mac user) bought my Dad a iPod Shuffle for his birthday and gave both of us $15 iTune cards...my birthday is the day after my Dads's. Anyway, I went to Apple's iPod Shuffle site and saw one, refurbished, for $79..so I bought it! It's wonderfully geeky..hold 120 songs which is plenty for me...I'd already moved quite a few tunes from my own, extensive CD collection to iTunes Library over the last year...now I have a lovely, very little gadget that plays them..I like the shuffle for it's size...a lot of it is music I like to dance to...I've had more than one deer following me as I dance down the local trails...

So, anyone else an iPod user?

It also has a little SD slot for expansion and a rubber cover with places to hook a biner on to attach to my shoulder strap, plus a place on top to attach a neck strap. It uses one AAA battery. “There are 10 preset channels on the radio or you can scan for strong signals. I listen to NPR also. The music side lets you go to artists, all tracks, or just scroll down to pick which song you want to listen to from a particular artist/band.”

“I play artist or albums, often stick it on shuffle songs and only have to skip one now and then. It is sad that I have lost so many CD's to what I will call "abuse by family" and a huge LP collection that was mistakenly sold at our garage sale in Fairbanks. I know the guy who bought them from my wife and he knows I didn't want them sold. I wonder if he digitized any? He would give me that.

I am interested in how well totally portable satellite radio would work. I think that would be the ultimate. Satellite phone/streaming radio combo. Solar powered, of course for trips. ;-D”

“I got a Sandisk 1Gb player that I really like. It's only a gig but it takes sd cards as well so I can always expand the memory. I think my wife got it for $100. I bought a FM transmitter that plugs into the lighter so I can use it in the Jeep.
