Hey Gforce those are some great pics. I have some others that I took in Spring, but I dont have the eye for flowers that you do. I forgot about all the box turtles there. I will get something squared away as far as Friday camping is concerned. Lets see what GH can come up with. I will check to see if the campgrounds are open that early.

Most, if not all, of the flower shots are from the east side. On that day there were very few flowers on the west side. It will be a good idea to have some slippers in case the water is high in the streams. The first time I was there I had to wade across Templeton Creek, but that is on the East side. Last summer I managed to rock hop all the crossings on both sides of Brookville.”

“Randall: I just noticed your post indicating I might be a resource for our Friday night camping location. I'd better let you know not to count on me. I'm as directionally challenged as they come, so I'm not your guy for trail planning. I'm perfectly willing to take your (or Gforce's) ideas on this trip... I've never been there and would not know where to start. I do know that there could be a small crowd (5 or 6) for Friday night, so factor that into your thinking. It won't be long before you're taking a serious head count. Anyway, I'm fine with whatever you decide.”

This trip is getting big!!!! Suzanne (Hoosier Hiking Council) will really be happy about the PR as this trail is one of her babies and she has always wanted more folks to know about it.
Ok, as far as Friday night is concerned I will be on the east side of the lake about a ¾ mile south of the east side parking lot. Park in that lot, cross the road and head south down the trail (ya can’t miss this) We will be right off the trail just where it starts to turn east. There is room for about 6,7 there and you can always go 100 yards one way or the other to find more room. I will pitch my tent further east so that late comers will have easy access in the dark. There are no turn offs on this section of the trail and that should make it easy to find. The trail is wide and flat here as well. If you need directions or get lost gimme a call on my cell (if it works) 630-715-5897. Just so you know I doubt that it will work there, but hey I tried If you don’t like that spot you can head north from the same lot and find a place in the cedars, just get a ½ mile or so off the road. As usual you need to lock cars and hide anything valuable. You cant get a good aerial look of the parking lot form a post that hubcap put up, (Two messages back)
The west side has good places to camp, but they are at a least two miles in.
Well that’s all, pray for sun and good temps and I hope to meet you in camp Friday or at the trailhead Saturday morning.

“Mapquest West Liberty, IN. It is almost at the Friday night trailhead, just east to be exact. Look at the map Randell posted or go to the trips page and he has it there.
