Still have a ton of packing and shopping to do. Oh well, Kamper doesn't get off work until 5 anyway.

I'll let Crashbang submit the trip report, but I will say we had about a dozen thru hikers in camp last night who were pretty well satisfied with the meal, beer and festivities.

Chili, cottonsocks and myself took a hike up to Tray Mtn, then Chili and I went on to the Shelter. It made for a nice morning hike. That afternoon Chili was making a run back into town to get a few supplies so I had him drop me off at Unicoi Gap and then I hiked back to camp. I told every hiker along the way what we had waiting for them. Some were a little wary thinking it was an April Fools joke being played on them. They were suprised when they got there.

Thanks to CB for putting this together again.

That was a fun trip. Crash got stuck in the mud up to his bumper, Chili force-fed a couple of hikers strawberries & whipped cream for about 30 minutes, Cottonsocks made shots, Georgia played in the mud til she was black, and we managed to feed about 20 hikers. We went to Mtn Crossings and got Kamper a new pair of hiking shorts and me a new winter hat. We hiked up Blood Mtn yesterday and Georgia continued to have the time of her life. It rained on us all the way down to the trailhead. We left Neels Gap around 2pm. Georgia slept in the back of the car the entire way back to Nashville with only 1 pee break. She then slept until 10am today. That was one exhausted puppy.

That strawberry and whipped cream thing was insane.

I bet firefly never wants another strawberry.

easily. I thought she'd had enough, but then she had a challenger in that new kid and she doubled her efforts.

Although, you have to admit. It was damn hard for her to talk with a spoon of strawberries and a can of whipped cream stuffed in her mouth.

CB isn't a damn yankee - he's just a yankee. I'm the damn yankee and a GRIT-wannabe! What you going to do about it? :D

I missed the strawberry thing...hmmm.

I tell you what - there is nothing like a couple of men playing in the mud with a 4x4 truck, a sports car, and a solid piece of rope!!! What a great way to start the festivities at Cheese Factory!!!

She was very funny - I felt bad for her cause she was so frustrated about her ankle. I wonder if she is off the trail now or if she hobbled on? She said that her hubby would go on after she got tired of it, but she didn't plan on making it to Maine.

Drove to Scales at Pine Mt, 3rd highest mt in Virginia as the AT passes through this area. Handed out 74 chili dogs and 46 cans of Mt Dew. No beer this time....one of the hikers came back 3 times saying man I am hungry and i love you brother and i said okay eat the dogs and leave mine alone.
More hikers this year. I spoke to several who are on unemployement drawing a check as they travel looking for a job in every town making it le"git looking for a job.
