yes,
yes,
yes, and I was there when it happened.
yes, heard about several, but I don't pass them on as fact since I have no first hand knowledge of them.

I don't think I was surveyed for that study.

I was in the service during those years, with 2 tours in Vietnam. Four of my 5 brothers as well. None of us were every mistreated, spit upon or abused, unless you count the free beer.

The spitting thing was and is almost entirely myth drummed up by those who made excuses for the Vietnam war.
It was also hyped by the media.
Ya know, the beloved media.
They took a few incidents and hyped it.
That sort of thing sells, duh!

War protesters then as now are concerned citizens: families, clergy, VETERANS, etc.
They are not now and were not then dirty, rotten, America-haters, traitors, anarchists, communists, etc.

Look at the films if you don't believe me.
I was there at anti-war rallies and a couple of civil rights marches.

Thanks, Buddha Bear.

Not asking why it's an issue. I'm asking why it's an issue now instead of in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, etc.

You sure do have a persuasive way with words. I always look forward to seeing how elegently you express yourself.

1.) (the number one, in this case, a dual meaning - See #1 from my first post, and have somebody read it to you very S-L-O-W-L-Y again. (by the way, that was the first part of the dual meaning, meaning the first part of 2 ((dual, another word for two)). The following is the second part (normally, after the first part of something dual, there is a second part, otherwise it wouldn't be dual). [Person reading this to moron note - prepare listener for part 2 of the dual part of the answer]. 2.) In the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's, the republican party a.) [note to person reading this to moron - explain subset and how subsets can be deliniated as letters, not numbers when you use numbers as the - hell screw it!] did not have control of congress and the executive, and argueably the judicial branch of government. b.) didn't wear the flag as a g-string/drape themselves in the flag/self-branded themselves as troop-supporting patriots/shoved double-wide-NASCAR endorsed-flag-colored dildos up thier arses as the great party and defended of the troops and if you weren't with them you hated the troops. c.) Bush, the king of morons and lies, wasn't president, and didn't lie his war policy into being. d.)the presidents of that period didn't drape themselves in live (not yet killed or wounded) troops to try to insinuate how supportive they were, like the current president.

2.-4. have somebody read to you the posts 2-4 in my initial post regarding this matter (ie, my rebuttal to your moronic comment).
