I think people recognize that I'm not a partisan Republican, that I'm someone who is moderate, and that my views are progressive.

Poor Mitt. He wants to come off as suitable for today's Republican party, but he has been caught on tape trying to come off as reasonable and capable of bipartisan cooperation and moderation.

Progressive is as progressive does. It's an abject failure and suicidal. Common sense should guide us now. They work for us. Government is the problem not the solution.

Strat, do you even drive? A short 5 mile drive to the store will prove that common sense doesn't exist in this country.

Of course you are right Strat. Teddy Roosevelt and his Progressive's totally ruined the country (not to mention how everything went down hill under that other Roosevelt, who took ideas from Socialists).

It's moderation and bipartisan compromise that has bankrupt the country. The bailouts, the wars, the spending...all bipartisan.

I hope I live to see the day when an American politician can't get elected with an (R) or (D) after their name. A day when we look at the current political parties as a pariah and totally rejected like the KKK.

Ye camp, but first we have to decide which fork we want to take. Hard to say which way we'll go, half of Americans want to dangle their whole lives on Mamma Government's tit, and the other half wants to put it back into her shirt, forcing a weaning off.

Not difficult to see which way America is steering. Unfortunately, milk don't flow forever.

Seems to me if we just let the R's and D's continue, they will continue to drive down the dollar until we are heating our homes with 'em. Maybe then there will be no division, only opposition. It really is us and them, the reality just hasn't hit home yet.

Mitts a progressive, just like Newt and even Bush. I honestly don't give two craps about the R party. We have to weed out the progressives. Their solutions always involve growing government and that always makes things worse...

Progressives? The "conservatives" are every bit as responsible for the mess our country is in. If I had to choose between the two, at least the progressives spend money on Americans and not on never ending wars and unaccountable bureaucracies. But really they all should go, now.

It doesn't matter who is President.

For years congress has done things totally unpopular with the people and then blamed it on the President, like "Obamacare". Like "Bush's wars" It's a shell game of responsibility. "Obamacare" was written by republicans in congress as the alternative to "Hillarycare". President Obama is an empty suit, like the last guy, like the next guy. Until you learn.

They wrote the bill Strat, they didn't have to vote for it. Their objections are phony. Just like the Democrat objections to the war. They continue to fund it.

One side plays the other feigning outrage. They will tell you "we must ...". But they actually all agree on the constant expansion of government, in size and scope, it's inevitable. Just look at the evolving positions of guys like Newt and Mitt as evidence.

During the last cycle, Dole backed Romney’s competitor John McCain, who went on to be the party’s nominee. Romney came under criticism when he said that Dole–who had written a letter to Rush Limbaugh in support of McCain–was “probably the last person I would have wanted to write a letter for me.”

Now he is happy to have the Dole endorsement, after all, that was then..
