Glacier N.P. and Weather “Hello! I am considering visiting Glacier N.P. in mid to late August. Does anyone know what the weather is normally in this area? Any info on the best times to visit based on Sunny weather? Thank You for your help Tony” 5:31:03 PM 1/09/06 “We were at Glacier in early August one year when it was 85 degrees during the day for a week. The weather varies considerably. I went to Olympic NP one year and they had received record snowfall that past winter. It hadn’t melted by early September and kept us from doing our route. The weather varies considerably. Ya pays yer money, ya takes yer chances. If I were to offer any advice, I’d say pack for the worst, and then check the local forecast when you get there. My favorite time to backpack, at that latitude, is right after labor day. Early September is usually good weather and the crowds have disappeared.” 6:19:53 PM 1/09/06 “August is a good time to visit, but it will be busy. You could have snow, but you are more likely to have 70-80 degrees. If you go to East Glacer, have dinner at Serranos.” 2:10:00 PM 1/10/06 “Ginny, I second eating at Serrano's. I was in GNP in July '04, and we ate at Serrano's a couple of times. Great Mexican food!” 3:33:00 PM 1/10/06
