WTF difference does it make?

Something about the White House makes people loose touch with mainstream America.

I think I'd like to see McCain and Rudy Guiliani run. McCain has neither confirmed or denied that he will run.

McCain has been smart in getting on political shows, letting people know where he stands before whoever the running democrat gets equal air time, and McCain doesn't have to pay for airing his views now since he's not officially running. He also does the Leno show, making jokes and trying to be appealing to the general public.

better

I'm thinking a Pat Robertson/Michael Moore ticket would be a dream team. We might get like a 4% voter turnout out of the deal. Nobody would be happy on either side so who's to blame? It's ideal.

Senators open to Cheney inquiry if needed
Democrat, Republican: Cheney should be investigated if he OK’d CIA leak

The Associated Press
Updated: 2:00 p.m. ET Feb. 12, 2006

WASHINGTON - Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald should investigate Vice President Dick Cheney and others in the CIA leak probe if they authorized an aide to give secret information to reporters, Democratic and Republican senators said Sunday.

Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., called the leak of intelligence information “inappropriate” if it is true that unnamed “superiors” instructed Cheney’s former chief of staff, I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, to divulge the material on Iraq.

Sen. George Allen, R-Va., said a full investigation is necessary.

“I don’t think anybody should be releasing classified information, period, whether in the Congress, executive branch or some underling in some bureaucracy,” said Allen, who appeared with Reed on “Fox News Sunday

Is there anyone running that isn't a "politician"?

I would vote for almost anyone from a general business background before I'd vote for a "known" politician.

Can we change that term from "Known politician" to "Known Liar"?

OK... I'm sorry... how about we change it from "Known Politician" to "Known narrow-minded" person

America is in decline, and deservedly so... and everyone is arguing about the obvious. I guess that's one of the reasons why we're in decline.

I don't think that Giuliani is really running.

He's a good guy, don't get me wrong.

But there are very few truly "undecided" people these days.

The key is to energize the base and reach 50+1.

I think that, ultimately, Democrats will vote for a Democrat.

And I think that Giuliani has enough positions that are disparate from the Republican base - gay rights, abortion - that he would suppress Republican voting.

So, I think that he'd lose a Republican primary/caucus battle AND I think that he'd lose a general election.

McCain might be a different story.

Tom Tancredo from Colorado, probably will not run.

I like Congressman John Lindner of Atlanta. he is a Fair Tax guy and pretty libertarian.

Personally Herman Cain, Lynn Swann, or a host of other congressmen who are not totally screwed up by politics....

Now the only state to have already recovered from Katrina is Mississippi. That is Gov. Haley Barbour.

Heck we never know. Lets all remember that in 1979 the choices were pretty slim too. There was Jack Ford, Bob Dole, and this fringe former Governor named Reagan....maybe we will get lucky and get some fringe person like.......Zell Miller.

I can't think of anyone who looks like they are going to run that I'd be excited to vote for.

I see no rational basis for all the Hillary hatred, but I'm not a big fan either. I think politically she is damaged goods nationally and would have a tough time in 2008.

There was a time I'd have felt pretty good about McCain - not now though. I think the guy has a lot of integrity for a career politician. I think he is neither zealot, nor sleeze.
