“Anyone ever read the "Epoch Times" - it looks like a regular, if thin, national newspaper with lots of decent national and regional stories. I found one on a train when I was bored and read one. Closer inspection makes it clear that its a Falun Gong paper. It's got lot's of articles on the Falun Gong, especially the persecution in China and lots of stuff on the Evil's of the Chinese Communist Pary. I wonder where Falun Gong gets the money to print this (ex-Pat Chinese businessmen?).

“They hand it out here by the ferry every week, Ped. I read it fairly often. The Falun Gong are always out on the streets here with rather dramatic demonstrations of their practice and the persecution the goes along with it. I see them on 42nd Street quite often. Usually, there's one person sitting inside a 3x3x4 cage with another dressed as a Chinese police officer. There's also some feigning a torture process, complete with fake wounds on their skin. They also have rather graphic images posted of the real human rights abuses suffered by these people in China. It's just a meditative practice. I wonder why it's so vehemently opposed by their government...”

I agree Mutt, selectivity and salt are necessary with this paper. (I have personal sources I trust for confirmation of any China stories)
