hardest section of the Mid-State Tr - ap ril trip

“Looking at the link you posted Rocky Gaps camping season starts April 28th. I've looked around and nothing seems available for a group.”

“anyone know of a place we can camp? The MST is on State Game Lands in this area and we won't be able to camp on the trail itself.”

It says to call in April, season begins May 1. They are familiar with MST as this campground is where most of the local KTA work trips have been based.”

“man, looks like i'll have to skip this one... some friends are planning a west rim trail hike that weekend... i haven't done the whole thing so i can't turn it down- hope you guys have a wicked hike!!”

“it's not looking good for me on this hike either. All the state parks in that area are closed to camping right now. There are some privately owned campgrounds, but I was hoping for a state park. Also a friend is in town next weekend from out of state and I'd like to visit with her. I may have to re-plan this trip for another weekend.”

Pennsy, there is talk of doing a friday nighter at the William Penn Shelter and hiking to Swatara Gap Saturday.

“I'm meeting Crazypace tonight. A 5 mile night hike from Wind Gap heading south, and then 16 tomorrow to Lehigh Gap. It's gonna be a soggy one.
