“Last night at a camera club meeting we had a guest who is a photojournalist for the International Committee of the Red Cross and other organizations. As a photojournalist, Fred Clarke, has traveled extensively around the globe, most recently having returned from several weeks in Pakistan and prior to that in Caucasus region, including Chechnya, Ingushetia, Georgia and Abkhazia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Nagorny Karabagh, as well in Lebanon, Liberia, Bosnia, Colombia, South Africa, etc. After leaving the news media several years ago, he made a decision to alter and focus his direction, concentrating solely on capturing humanitarian images in conflict and post conflict situations and countries, dealing with the various mandates of the humanitarian theater. Documenting the effects of war on civilians. Working with organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross has provided him with a deep and unique access to various world events, of which some would be totally impossible within the working confines of being purely a journalist. Here is a link to his photos. http://www.photozen.com/index.htm last edited: 1/18/06 8:42:03 AM” 8:39:28 AM 1/18/06 “Potent pictures there Ewk!” 10:52:26 AM 1/18/06 “Ped, I don't know if you noticed but most of the pictures are of kids or old men and women. The young/middle aged men are dead or in prison. He had a story with almost every picture. The website just shows the images he can post not the ones he turns over to the ICRC for documentation purposes.” 11:14:01 AM 1/18/06
