West Bee Branch via White OakView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 7 of 7 messages posted.
“I would like to visit West Bee Branch on 1/21/06 and it will have to be a dayhike only. I need directions from White Oak hollow as I understand this is the quickest route there. Can anyone help? Thanks!” 9:50:01 AM 1/19/06 “From Thompson Creek trailhead parking lot, go down the trail a quarter mile or so till you have to cross the first little stream. This is the drainage from White Oak. Continue about another 100 yards or so and you will see a trail leading North into White Oak Hollow. Take this trail. Pass by the first drainage on your right, continue on till the second drainage. Turn right and climb up the bottom of the second drainage. The trail is pretty plain here. Continue climbing, at the top of the ridge, turn left for about 100 feet then turn right, down the drainage. The trail is confused here due to all the blowdowns. Soon you will find the trail, just keep going down. last edited: 1/19/06 9:59:55 AM” 9:57:07 AM 1/19/06 “Thanks StoveStomper, weather permitting I will give it a try on Saturday.” 10:00:51 AM 1/19/06 “A few comments. Once you top out and turn left it's 30 steps or so. When you turn right into the drainage the trail is blocked from a downfall. Look closely for teh turn off. After maybe a half mile you'll drop down through the bluff line. It's slow going here with a downfall. You just follow the water, it's not as bad as it looks. Once past this area the trail continues with a large bluff to your left (your at the bottom of it). You follow this maybe 100' and the trail drops down to the creek bottom. Cross the creek, find the trail again and follow it downstream until you connect with East Bee. You probably know what to do from here.” 10:04:30 AM 1/19/06 “hickrystik - email me and I'll scan a marked up map of the route for you.” 10:10:07 AM 1/19/06 “Dayhiker, thanks for the additional info.” 10:10:07 AM 1/19/06 hickrystik “email with marked up map attached sent.” 2:17:27 PM 1/19/06
