Oh this is rich. So if Executive A goes into Company A and they are projected to lose 5 Billion and lay off 10,000 workers...and he cuts the losses to 1 billion and the lay offs to 2,000....we should not allow the owners of THAT company (the share holders) to reward him?

Euro, I understand with the dearth of education on Fascisim that is prevelent in Europe you would not understand or even grasp this theory. But in 1933 a tiny (by comparison) "facility" was opened outside Dauchau, Germany. Originally it was a converted Gunpowder factory and was designed to hold those elements "counter" to the Socialist regime. Mostly seen as a place for "undesireables" I am certain in a population of Germany the original population of around 4,800 in the camp didn't seem all that bad.

That is the dangerous effect of Socialisim, we get so caught up in punishing "those other guys" that we eventually miss the fact that the real people "making it fair" are only intent on MAKING it (LOL) FAIR for them..personally....

We let them set what is "fair compensation" for executives (LOL look at the fun Ben and Jerry's had when they looked for a qualified executive at the BullShirt pay they were offering). Then do they get to set benefits...then why not look deeper. Hey your company took a "tax deduction" (which to most yokles is "getting money back from the government"). So the government tells you how much you can take as a "benefit..." and the rest you have to turn over to them.

So what happens when "Mr. A" starts his business from scratch...grows it to making good money and UNCLE SUGAR says..."HMM money to help me pay off the masses"...

And GUESS WHAT....? Know those BILLIONS in retirement plans...How long till Nancy Pelosi and others decide "I don't care how much you scrimped and saved and invested, but that is just TOO MUCH MONEY in your private account...(oh its held in a BANK we bailed out)."

Think its a pipe dream (like the elderly Nimble laughs about)....Try Venezuela.


OH and Euro..sorry about your grandfather...but um about 70 million people died because the majority of the World powers refused to admit there was a problem until it was WAAAAY too late.

It's not dictating to private business - it's intervening in businesses which have needed a vast taxpayer bailout to stay afloat and not drag the entire economy down the drain with them. They take the taxpayer cash, then the representatives of the taxpayers get to have a say in what is done with the cash.

Now if, as a bumbling conservative, you want to complain about something, then make it about the idea of giving these companies any cash in the first place, and also about government standing behind any individual accounts.

Then maybe go on to pretend that the collapse of the financial system won't have dire consequences.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. You take their money and you have to let them make the calls. I never said I was in favor of all these bailouts.

The home loan industry got in trouble because of the Feds trying to control them. "Everyone should be able to buy a home, whether they can aford to make the payments or not". Then the lending companies were told if they couldn't make this "American Dream" happen, the government would just have to step in and put some regulations on them to help them make it happen.

The car industry too. Although I see that as more of a big union bail out than an auto industry bail out.

At any rate you can't open that door just a little. Once it's open, it's open forever.
