Superbowl Recipes
Is anyone hosting a superbowl party?

I made the best chili with real meat chunks from a sirlion tip roast. If anyone wants the recipe, I'd be glad to give it to you. It was so good that I didn't miss the cheddar cheese since I'm dieting. I just ate the beans w/sauce over rice and tasted a piece of meat.

The cooking shows this weekend were all about superbowl foods and lots of chili cooking going on, but I have my own recipe that's pretty basic, but great. Lots of people order pizza, so they get back up for over an hour easy for deliveries.

Add one hot Seahawk team to a bowl with a limp Steeler team, mix well.

Result: One gigantic ass-kicking of the Steelers.

A lady had her African Grey Parrot on the news that was saying something like, "Go Seahawks" or something like that.

I finished off making my chili last night by adding lager beer to it. It came out fantastic using beef chunks instead of chopmeat.

don't let chili know that you put beans in your chili.

Anybody who knows beans about chili, knows chili has no beans.

One of my favorite types of dip/spread.

Pepper Jelly over cream cheese with Ritz or Wheat Thins.

going out for Vietnamese and thai food. No football in my home, only real sports (ducking and running)

Ducking and running, my ex-husband's sport of choice as I hit him on the head with a pot. I wish I still had that pot. It held great memories:)

matahari,

Swedish meatballs are great too or even regular spaghetti sauce ones, but I think your idea goes better with beer. It's nice to eat something spicy with a drink. I guess you can do bite size meatballs in a chili sauce too for that extra kick.

My Super Bowl menu...
(with contributions from my guests):

Appetizers/Side Dishes:

Homemade corn tortilla chips

Homemade guacamole

Clam & salsa dip (cream cheese base)

Jalapeno-ranch stuffed black olives

Mesquite-smoked wings (marinated in lime, tequila & jabanero sauce before smoking) with fresh pico de gallo

Sweet and sour jalapeno shrimp

Main Course:

Crispy taco shells with homemade meat filling, wrapped in soft tortillas spread with homemade beans, topped with shredded cheddar, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream & salsa

Dessert:

Apple-cheddar fried mini-enchiladas and ice cream, drizzled with cinnamon-lime sauce

Beverage:

What else? Margaritas!

Um, is there gonna be a football game on or something? I'm just looking forward to the food!
