Lots of people use them and seem very pleased. It's just chlorine dioxide which is the same active ingredient as AquaMira. Advantage is no 5-minute activation time like AquaMira. Disadvantage is cost. A bottle of AquaMira will treat a LOT of water while this does 30 liters. Still, the shelf life is excellent and if you aren't cranking through tons of water it's seems simple, light, and effective. So it's all good if you ask me.

I've used them and yes they do leave a taste but it wasn't any more unpleasant than the usual taste in tap water.

They work fine.

I bought some Katadyn tablets in Europe a few summers ago that are silver ion, rather than chlorine dioxide.

No bad taste, just made the treated water seem a bit "flat". Easily overcome with some powder juice mix (I use "e-mergency" brand packets).

The tabs are very very tiny, I could fit all the tablets in their sleeves in my bikes front handlebar bags zipper pocket, along with a bunch of other stuff.

If you come across them in the US definitely buy them. I haven't seen them here, so they're probably banned or some such here.
