Surprised...
...no one posted on this story yet. It's been a few days since this happened.
An ex-postal worker.....a female, surprisingly....went into the depot near Santa Barbara, California and shot and killed five employees before killing herself. I think she wounded a few also.

Why do so many postal workers shoot their co-workers? Stress, low esteem, depression? I could think of at least six shootings in the last 10 to 15 years.

Maybe this subject have been posted in the "fuego" category. I'll go check....

Some of the management in the Postal Service were worthless as actual workers but due to their skill as back-stabbers and rats they are "valuable" in handling(pestering and applying mental torture to) the people who actually get the work done.

With the right combination of petty jealousy and meanness and ruthless nature a worthless piece of crap can reach positions of power in middle management and get some payback for being picked on or abused when they were young.......or whatever their psychosis happens to be.

Every now and then someone who is pushed long enough and hard enough brings their favorite weapon to work and bang, bang!!

I think the amazing thing about this story is that it was a woman. Women aren't normally shooters much less suicide by gun types.

Oh yeah...[insert my normal rant about how this could have been stopped if more Americans were to have and exercise their right to carry concealed weapons].

Well you gotta expect it
Well guys, when we started letting those little ladies in to the work environment...I have a friend at the courthouse who was listening to the ladies in the office #&%!$ about work, home etc....he looked at them and said,"You know what you need to take care of that home work load...you need a wife. They work great!"

LOL...sorry, I know it is bad when someone kills...WAIT that was in California...I thought they had some of the strongest GUN CONTROL LAWS in the US....HOW THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN????

My wife was complaining about the girls in the office under her (there's a sexy image!) and she said she was going to fire them all and hire men. LOL!

It's not the postal employee's fault, considering it was the gun's influence that caused him to go beserk. Guns cause crime.[/Y2]

"Defending criminal behavior..."

What a moron!!

I was a letter carrier many years ago.
I saw a few people snap or talk about "taking out management", but never were any weapons involved.

Hmmmm, a couple of fist fights...

What's the matter bacpac, are you a mean nasty manager??

is this a bad time to mention a game called going postal 2? :)

The USPS and Homeland security spent several million on bio-hazard detectors because a few postal workers got anthrax and the Mail got contaminated as well.... How many postal workers have to die by gun shot before they will put metal detactors at the doors?

Anyway Im still gonna show up everyday to copllect my check :)

Headline in the L.A. Times this morning: Authorities said the woman, who fatally shot five and killed herself at the Goleta facility Monday night, had psychological problems.

As opposed to...?

yeah but 20 rounds (figure they say she reloaded at least once and being charitable I am going to go with the post ban 10 round magazine) and only 6 hits...sorry 7 counting her. That is like a little over 30% she needed to be on the range more.

Then again...she may have been double tapping the targets...give her that and that is 12 with 20...pretty good, (I am pretty sure she only took one).

We actually had a guy who tried to shoot himself...four shots,.

Then we had a guy who popped himself in the nether region with a 12 gauge....one of my firefighters was on the call, he was the first to walk in the house, he took one look at the guy sitting there and said,"You want me to reload it, I would want you to do it for me."
