My most favorite places to vacation happen to have to tv, radio, clock or phone and on one island, no one had a phone, not even the people who ran the villas. They used a ham radio. That was on Mosquito Island, one of the British Virgin Islands. No there were no mosquitos, could be the island was named that since it is so small like a mosquito. There were no cars there either and no roads.

Anything that makes it so I don't have to be dependent on others is a necessity. Including my snow shovel.

i can't believe i forgot this one...air conditioning...i can't stand it...i hate the way it makes me feel...i never use it in my car and if it weren't for my wife wouldn't use it at home either...now i can see how maybe some elderly people in the south would consider it a necessity but not here

The will to survive and inner strength are all that you need. If you've got that, the rest will follow. The most difficult things to give up and the things that provide the greatest obstacles are pride and vanity.
