I wonder how you could know that nobodys found it, when you yourself admit you don't know what the truth is.

to elaborate briefly (or is that a paradox?), you are imperfect. i am imperfect. we are all stumbling around in the dark for Truth. any Scripture, no matter how divine, is only a guidebook. you must find Truth yourself

I agree we are imperfect (as I just said that) - but that doesn't mean we are all stumbling in the dark for truth - I used to be, but am no longer. I'm sure many are stumbling looking for truth.

It is illogical to say that a divine scripture is not THE truth. There can be only one grand universal truth.

Hey MarkO.

What I said (and have always maintained) is people (including myself) are imperfect.

You took the opposite of that, and said I said that.

What a twisted world in which you live.
Sarge

you found your happy ending. if it allays your fears and helps you get thru life, good for you.

of course there can only be one grand universal truth. that doesnt mean its actually been written down anywhere.

Do you have the courage to give up the self for a greater cause? Giving in to happiness is done by suicidal cowards everyday. That's not courage. That's cowardice.

Crash - when I "found God" (He found me), I was not looking for a happy ending, and didn't need help getting through life. I didn't go to God because I needed happiness, I went to Him seeking truth.

altho marko was being a smartass, i think he was on to something. being imperfect, you cannot know perfect truth. if you think you have perfect truth, you must think yourself perfect (which i believe you when you say you dont). therefore you must admit you dont have perfect truth.
Crash Bang

being imperfect, you cannot know perfect truth.

I agree with that. But what a perfect being can give us is a guide to direct us to the right direction. I don't know perfect love. We all need Jesus Christ to save us from our imperfect view of the world. That is the point. Jesus is that guide.

Knowing there is a perfect truth, but admitting you don't understand it is one of the steps to Christianity.

I know I fail to meet God's standards for perfect love, so I need Jesus and the Word to guide me.

I once was lost
But now I'm found
La la la la la la la.......

I'm so twisted!!

I didn't say you said anything, dude!!

I merely said that you were perfect!

Life is good........nothing to get hung about.

"It also doesn't mean it hasn't"

this is true. however, christians are the ones stretching the limits of credibility when they claim that their scripture is the one perfect truth. therefore, the burden of proof is on them, and until they have satisfied that burden, i cannot in good faith accept their claims.

Well, that's on you. I don't know any Christians who are in on the debate to score points. Just don't say when you get there nobody told you about Jesus. It's up to you to accept Him, not me or anyone else.

Sarge, your preaching is getting old.
This board is not the place for recruiting.
Although I don't know chappy very well at all, he seems to to be the kind of honest preacher who is content to let us be ourselves.

You have indicated by your incessant prattle about "Jesus" that you are indeed insecure in your new-found "faith".

Let it go, you will never get me or anyone else "on board".

feel free to put me on ignore markO - but Christianity is part of who I am and the way I look at the world is based on that.

If you are so closed minded you cannot accept others who look at the world differently than you, you are free to walk away.

“My beliefs are my business and I don't care to hear about anyone else's."

marko

Well that's just too funny.

Translatation:

I feel free to espouse my beliefs such as: Sarge is prattling, Sarge is insecure, Sarge will not get ANYBODY “on board”, and that I have an obvious hostility towards Christianity.

But you'll have to shut up about your beliefs.

I just love those open-minded "liberal" beliefs. How typical: “I don't care to hear about anyone else's."

There have been a great series of cartoons going around on the web and in email. I found the best images at Larry Elder's site. My favorites are the ones above. The full site - lots of great cartoon are here:

I heard an interview with this author who wrote a book to be released July 1st called The Last Patriot. the plot of the book is basically Mohammad had a final revelation that would have changed the face of Islam by somehow denouncing violence against non-Muslims and his followers kill him to keep the revelation a secret.

Personally I think this author is a walking dead man.

I think when a Imam issues a Fatwa we ought to offer a lifetime salary and the relocation of the person and his family to the US for the dead of the Imam.
