Hospitals suck !!!!!

“I just spent most of the day at the hopital with a rather nasty horse kick to my leg and all i can say is I HATE emergency room staff !!! (nothing personal to anyone out there who works at a hospital)
They treat you like you are somehow keeping them from doing something else more important, like drink coffee or gossip. I was bleeding all over the place and in more than a little pain and i had to sit there and listen to the nurse and doctor chat about some T.V. show! I'm to mad to think....or mabe it's the pills ;)”

“I've always had great service in ER's. besides the wait. Of course I'm usually only there for something odd or "exciting".

At least in their opinions.”

“As a young lad, I went to the ER with a severe asthma attack. my one and only attack ever. I went ahead of a drunk bleeding from his head. When he complained the Nurse responded with:

Breathing comes before Bleeding!”

“I feel your pain daydreamer. When I broke my arm when I was 15, the doctor on call wanted to send me home in a split so he didn't have to come in that night. Fortunately the nurse insisted that he come in.
When he finally came in they decided to give me some morphine for the pain. The filled the need and then it sat on the counter for about a half hour while I was having muscle spasms in my arm that kept moving the bone around.
The whole experience was not pleasant.”

“I quess a femur fracture with a nicked artery is not very high up on the list......I was the only person in the ER, MABE they were waiting for someone who was not breathing.”

“In my county the ER's have a average wait of at least 3 hours and sometimes as long as 8 to 9 hours. Maybe they were trying to match my local hospitals. The longest my wife and I had to wait was 5 hours and then it was 12 hours later when she finally was admitted to a room. 9 pm on a Saturday is not a good time to show up at an ER.”

“ER...guys hate to be the realist here but the ER is for Stabalizaton. They either get you ready for ICU, hospital, or they will send you home. If you aren't in danger of dying....sorry.


I hate hospitals as a whole. I have worked my clinical hours in a Level 1 trauma unit on Martin Luther King day....17 hours. Think of the ER as the MASH unit. They get you alive enough to go to Surgery.

I had to get an operation at the first of the year....I was supposed to be in the hospital for 48 hours....3 hours out of surgery I was standing at the Nurse station demanding the call the Doctor and get me out...(LOL)”

“I'm just a big baby and was mad as hell because I got hurt doing something i really didn't want to do anyway and now i'm hurting and grumpy !!!!!”

“Busted femur. That sucks. I snapped mine pretty good when I was a kid - spent many weeks of that summer in a hospital bed in traction. Did you get to the hospital via ambulance? You'd think they would wheel you right in and start working on you if there were no other patients there.”

“That's another thing. Ambulance patients come first.”

“They let me right in and after some extremly painfull pressure bandages and x-rays they all just kinda vanished...no pain meds or anything, I thought the bleeding was sort of an emergency as i didn't stop unless you pushed really hard on the bandage and well the bone was broken right where the cut was !!!
I try to be nice to people with needles and control of the drugs but i finally went off and that is the only reason i am home now. they wanted to keep me but i can be ignored just as well in the comfort of my own home !!”

However, you've been beating around the bush, probably because of your discomfort! What did you do to make a horse mad enough to kick you? Hubcap asked you if you went in an ambulance. I suspect you rode the horse. I hope you left the horse outside. Of course, if you took the horse in with you, that might explain their unsatisfactory service provided for you. They are probably not set up to administer ER service to a horse.

“The horse is here for an attitude ajustment as he has taken to attacking anyone who tries to go in the feild with him. His owner went out to get him and he chased her out of the pasture, Well I didn't run when he came at me like she did (mabe I will next time)
He was alot nastier than i was ready for !

I should have ridden his butt right to the auction !!!! His owner drove me to the hospital, in hind sight not the best idea as she cried the whole way and hit every bump in the rode !

“I loved taking badboys to the hospital. It was good for at least 8 hrs over time. We got to watch the friday nite shows of tantrum throwing drunks & litany of gang wounds.”
