Adirondack RV parks?
My wife and I are planning to take a trip to the Adirondacks within the next two years. We'll pull our fiberglass trailer and use it as a base camp for my hikes.

If any of you are familiar with that area, what are some good campgrounds that will accomodate a small trailer, preferably with hookups. Either public or private; I don't care as long as I'll have easy access to the high peaks region.

NY DEC campgrounds Fish Creek and Rollins Pond are betweenthe towns of Tupper and Saranac Lake. No hookups, though. Both are nice, but my preference is Rollins Pond.

While you're there, drop in on Rachel Ray from the cooking show "30 Minutes Meals". She lives in the Adirondacks or maybe she moved now that she's married:)

There's a nice KOA in Wilmington near the foot of Whiteface Mountain.

LH, I think Rachel pretty much moved out of the area once her show went national.

Yeah, I'm hunting for something close to the High Peaks.

The Wilmington KOA is good -- close to Lake Placid -- site of the 1980 Olympics and close to the High Peaks as well for some more active hiking.

I usually Jump off from Lake George where my brother-in-law lives, but Keene Valley (Rt#73)would certainly put you in closer.

Last summer I stayed at Meadowbrook. I don't know if they have trailer hookups, I tented it, but you could call and check. It's near Lake Placid in the High Peaks area. It was nice for what I was looking for. Good location too. It's a DEC campground, see link above.
