“The snow has started in the Philly Burb of Glenside. Radar shows a hugestmongous storm. The rain/snow line is to our south. We are just west of the belt of heaviest snow forecast, if the models hold up. We're expecting anywhere from 6-13 inches, depending on the track.”

The big difference is snow removal equipment. If you get a foot of snow overnight in Vermont, the roads look like nothing happened. All that costs a ton of money though.”

“My sister and bro in law when up to Gatlinburg, TN this past week. Rented a cabin up in the hills. This was their first vacation with just the two of them since their boys (19 & 21) were born.
They did a 360 slideing back down the road after trying to go up it. No damage done other than to their nerves.
They had to rent a motel room that night in Gatlinburg.
That liked to have killed my sister (she's the thrifty type) in paying for a motel room AND a cabin they couldn't get to!
..and to top that off, ALL their stuff was in the cabin.
They did make it back up the hill the next day.
They are supposted to come back home tommorow.”

“Certain areas of Tenn. are being pounded with severe thunderstorms, tornado's (F1,2 and 3's) winds pushing 100 mph and up in some areas. It is moving east and will continue for the next 6 hrs.
Looks like northern Al is getting hit also.

“Yes, we're under a tornado warning here. But it's way up in the NE corner of the county. We might get something later tonight.

“bit, some of that hail looks to be about 1" dia. That can do some damage to a car.

There is pics in this mornings paper of the damage in Tn. The tornados rolled thru several neighborhoods (not talking trailers) destroying everything in its path.”
