Ya curling's pretty much just bowling on ice in that it's a social sport and just about the only thing to do in some of those prarie towns. Drink and curl

All in all I thought this was a pretty good clean Olympic games, based on the tv coverage anyways. And I'm quite happy with the outcome for Canada

So let me be the first to invite you all to Vancouver for 2010 !! ..... no ya can't all stay at my house

If you need makeup, sequins and a soundtrack, then it's not a sport.

At least curling is objective. More a sport then figure skating and Ice dancing.

just not as "sexy"

good point bear, but I went ice skating today with my daughter and I'll have to admit that the figure skaters have a LOT of talent and have spent at least as much, if not more, time training than any of the other athletes there.

No questions there, Roam! But so do concert pianists.

But piano playing is an art, not a sport. :P

Regarding curling, Jon and I caught the women's curling one night. A couple days later Jon told me he then watched the men's curling, but it just didn't even come close to being as good as the women's. I told him I was totally onto him. It was the hot curling chicks he liked watching, not their curling abilities. He couldn't deny it.

I'm getting olympic withdrawals already. I was watching at least 2hrs of olympics each night for 16 nights.

Wasn't that the icing on the cake...the Italian 50km skier receiving his gold medal (last medals of the winter olympics) at the closing ceremonies.

That was pretty cool! I only found out recently that my great-grandmother was from Turin. Now I know why I love mountains so much. I think it's in my blood.
