You need to apply RIGHT AWAY! “http://www.eagle-bluff.org/pages/jobframepage.html Position Description: Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center (Lanesboro, MN) serves students with 3-5 day residential school visits, in which they participate in experiential and environmental classes. In addition to the school-year program, Eagle Bluff offers summer and community/family programs. Eagle Bluff is seeking a full-time, year-round Public Programs Coordinator to instruct students during the school year, market Eagle Bluff facilities to potential summer users, and coordinate all aspects of the overnight and day camp programs. This person is also responsible for planning and implementing community programs or special events hosted by Eagle Bluff. Primary Responsibilities: • Teaching Eagle Bluff environmental and adventure classes, presenting large group natural history programs. • Planning and coordinating Eagle Bluff summer and supplemental events. • Assisting with marketing and recruiting user groups for the summer season. • Hiring, training and supervising summer staff. Training and Skills: • B.A/B.S. in environmental education, biology, natural resources, or related field. • Experience in environmental and outdoor education, including natural history knowledge and outdoor recreation skills. • Self-motivation, flexibility, enthusiasm, creativity, and organizational skills. • Experience planning and coordinating events. • Preferred certifications include, but are not limited to: CDL, Class B with passenger endorsement, First Responder, Life Guarding, and Firearms Safety Instructor. Job responsibilities include: • Teaching environmental and adventure education classes to all ages. Primary audience: Middle School. • Summer planning and coordination: -Marketing and recruiting user groups. -Creating & developing Eagle Bluff sponsored summer programs, including but not limited to, overnight and day camps. -Determining summer staff requirements and subsequent hiring of summer staff -Creating program marketing brochures. -Registering campers. • Implementation of Summer Programs: -Supervise summer staff -Be on-call and available while summer programs are in session for staff and camp families. -Lead summer programs. • Responsible for planning and implementation of community programs such as an Earth Day Celebration, Family Getaway Weekends, Alumni Day. • Attendance at meetings, leading and attending staff seminars, writing monthly reports, assistance with other programs as needed.
