Nope! At that time of the year GSMNP will be crowded and the trails will be muddy. Timberback rattle snakes and copperheads will be crawling all over the place The bears will be awake, hungry and looking for easy food. Sometimes they even try to steal backpacks from the backs of hikers. When they do, they usually get them. And after a long winter the army of backcountry Rangers will be anxious to write tickets for infractions of the rules, correct or not, to fill their remaining quota from the winter. There are plenty of other places to go, like some good trails in Texas or on Cumberland Island.

Folks - Please quit trying to send more visitors to my Spring-time home away from home. The crowds are big enough already.

Disregard Nowslimmer. The Smokies are great.
