“Cleaning and preparing a Boy Scout Camp for a big event in April....expecting 1200 youth and leaders...got to get the camp ready.”

This will be [knock on wood] my first backpacking trip in almost 6 months. I REALLY, REALLY need this trip. Only thing that is going to suck is that this is my first trip on my meds-and my hands/feet have no circulation when it gets cold. So yep, I am carrying my new down jacket, and my down socks-and will most likely be in both - in my sleeping bag. No ultralite wankering till summer for me, now.

Stovie...this is The 3rd Annual Lazy Camper Trip To The Coast ;-) We all get sweet pimpy campsites right on the Pacific Ocean-and basically sit around and eat :-P Woo-hoo! And no, Pixie, I so am not hauling in Mike's Lemonade this year. The Man is coming with me this year-which means "The Little Lady" will be Pack Donkeying the families gear..as The Man fills his pack up with his camera gear. Oy...that Halfdome 4 tent is NOT ultralight gear. Can you say 9.6 lbs? :'-( But I'll haul our gear to have him with me! Cause then I can sneak my frozen footsicles over into his bag right after he falls asleep..hehheh!! He doesn't get to backpack much, and I am SOOOO happy he is coming! I even bought him an Oriska Plate for the trip :-D Somehow I end up with the 5600 ci "family pack" and he has the wanker pack on. How does that work? I am 12" shorter than him! Smart man.......

Dicey, Considering I have met you (while getting the kid to cross a weenie stream in the Cascades), you have to come for one of the potlucks :-D They are fattening to say the least ;-)

Next up, if I survive this trip, is the Snow Trip over my birthday weekend (March 4th weekend?)...where Rumidude and Orygwan will fight over the honor of carrying a 2 lb block of homemade "Never Winter Hey Tubby!" fudge ]:-) On that trip, I will somehow attempt to not freeze on my meds :-P Weeeeee!!!!”

“Dolly Sods melted and washed away. I was thinking it would HAVE TO BE burried in snow this time of year - but I was wrong. I'm bagging that trip and meeting up with a group to finish another section of the Laurel Highlands Trail in PA.”
