The A/C definitely makes a difference in mileage. But I'm willing to lose a few mpg to have nice cool air. :)

Wouldn't know prices, my servants do them things, while I wash the toilets and windows and bake the bread.
That A/C myth about the efficiency of newer coolers is the american 'Let's forget the truth to avoid the guilt'.

Saw that too, RichB. Confirmed.

Gas is coming down around here. Funny, I thought the lower pressure system off the mouth of the Persian Gulf would have sent things through the roof.

However, we did have two major refineries come back on line on Memorial Day; mind you, only after there was major talk about hauling those bassturds before Congress again. How ironic that once Congress gets involved, gas prices drop.

Oh well -- go figure. As long as you pay interest on that fill up, who really cares, right?

It'll be back up in a couple of weeks when summer demand peaks. Congressional issues aside, supply and demand still is alive and well.

"Congressional issues aside, supply and demand still is alive and well."

However, when you limit supply, and the consumer has built their lives around something they just can't live with out, the Capitalist can name their price.

Point Capitalist.

Congress should not have given them money 2 1/2 years ago. Sure, didn't hear the oil cos and repubs #&%!$in about all the subsidies. But , a little look at their books -Oh god government is horrible.

DID you guys hear that Cuba is granting rights to VENEZUELA to drill a few miles outside their waters in the GULF...

Why can't we do that?

Maybe if the U.S. governmet had treated Cuba in a more friendly manner and been the one to extent an offer of peace rather than the usual belligerence you could go and drill there, X.

When Cuba is opened up to travel I'm going to try like crazy and go the first year before it gets too commerciaized. You can actually go there now via other countries, but you'd better not get caught. To much risk for too little reward for my tastes.

Just out of curiosity I did a fare check with Cuban Airlines from Montego Bay to Havanna. The fair was listed as $407 USD. Pretty funny that they list their fares with USD.

You are a freakin' genius and a runt, XLax.

Sadly Kennedy was murdered 43.5 years ago..............hello, newsflash!!!

No president since has had the nuts or wisdom to call off the vendetta on Cuba.
They are afraid of a virtual handful of rightwing nuts.
Let 'em holler, normalize relations with Cuba.

i really like how our gasoline prices follow the same predictable path week after week.

1)thursday night the prices jump by at least four cents a litre. usually more.
2)prices stay high friday, saturday and sunday
3)monday the prices start to fall. by tuesday, the price is back down close to where it started out at on the previous thursday.

and the petrol companies swear they aren't fixing the prices. they must think we're a bunch of ninnies.

Yeah, I think some on here were saying we'd sustain over $3 by end of last year. Here we are a year later still bobbling around (mostly under) that milestone, still under record amounts (adj. for infl.). Not too shabby at all. A good cause for joyful celebration as we live in these times of abundance.
