OMG we are up to $3.15 a gallon
I feel bad for even having to ask my daughter for gas money so I can drive her to work. this is getting crazy and summer is not even here yet. i have said NO to hiking trips because of how much it will cost for gas.

$3.10 by me. If I look around, there are still a few stations under $3, but they are all off my regular travel paths. We still haven't hit the Memorial Day price jack which will increase the price by at least 10 cents per gallon.

We're still hanging in the $2.80's (with full service) but I doubt it'll hold below the $3 mark for long...

Thank god I'm moving to within a mile of work in a few weeks...

Around $3.40/gallon for 87. It's been hanging here for a while. I don't doubt it may break $4 this summer.

Better get used to it.

$3.15 here. I got it at costco for $3.05 and felt really good about it.

Here's something to think about....

My little brother (car crazy), told me today he was reading that the Toyota Prius is actually WORSE for the environment due to it's manufacturing processes than a Hummer. Sounds crazy doesn't it?! But, most of us don't think about anything but the mpg, never the way a vehicle is manufactured or it's emissions, etc.

I googled and found about ten articles...here's one:http://clubs.ccsu.edu/Recorder/editorial/editorial_item.asp?NewsID=188

sass - I read a similar evaluation on CFL bulbs a week or so ago. It sounded like a hoax type article but centered around the use of mercury in the bulbs.

Gas is around 2.85 here.

My Echo and why I like it
Much of the interior is made of the same recycled material as my (former)pc monitor casing and electolux (now 10 yo) cannister vacuum. It does not have expensive parts to maintain and can go up to 7500 miles before and oil change (I usually change it sooner though). Toyota has taken this "low turnover" vehicle off the line after 7 years and has replaced it with the "yaris". I still get 33+ mpg in city and 40mpg hwy. It's a 4 door with auto and air.

So according to that article of the Prius and Hummer. The Prius will only last 100K miles and the Hummer 300k miles. The 100K is its warrenty period. Not when the car is deemed useless. Pure BS. Toyota Cars are well known to last over 200K mile, prius batteries are warrentied for 8 years, while GM SUV's can barely make it past 150K miles. That whole article smells of being written by a Toyota basher.

I got gas for $3.09 yesterday.

My Yaris (#5 on greenest cars list) is a year old now and I haven't done anything but change oil and put in gas. It has 26,000 miles on it already and I did some figuring that just in work miles alone I will put 31,000 a year on it. I put 1,000 miles on it just last week. EEK! Even with gobs of in town, start and stop driving I still average 37 mpg.

The Democrats are in charge. What is their plan for dealing with the price of oil? All they seem to be doing is reinvestigating issues they have already investigated.

Sort of like the 2000 elections. Keep recounting hoping for the number they want.

gee whiz yotaman, it'll be okay. I don't have a dog in this fight as both cars are repulsive to me. I just thought it was too crazy to be true but there are quite a few articles out there. And of course toyota would say it's bunk, so would ford if the article was about the focus.

My little buggy goes 100 miles on three gallons or less.

And, my three sons and I can all ride reasonably comfortable.
We are all 6' 4" and average 200#, or 193cm and 90 kilo.
That is the limit for that little car.....The Toaster.
