A brake?

My friends lived in front of a parking garage one summer. It was being repaved and they had to remove enough of the old concrete to keep the height the same. Jack hammer reverberating in a parking garage 8 hours a day, every day.

Yeah, they probably been done a long time ago if you'd kept your clothes on and not been handing out lemonade.

Why is lizs bothered by noise at 10:30 in the morning on a workday?
Sounds like someone is sleeping in today.

It probably is a saw, but they're sawing aluminum.....not the quietest thing around.

It's my LATE day. Yes, I do work "non traditional hours." :-) Been sitting here with earplugs in. They just ran that obnoxious machine on the other side of building. I can hear it clear as day. Sounds like an over-sized dentist's drill. GRRRR!!!

Yes, I WANT to spit on them!!! lol

Am trying to figure print prices, framing, how many print sales I need to break even, etc., for this upcoming traveling photo exhibit. I hate math, too!! LOL... looks like I'll probably LOSE money on this whole traveling gallery, but it will be great exposure (not to be confused with showing skin to siders, lol)

Am waiting for those putting on the show to tell me how big they need the show prints to be. All guessing until that happens!! Think I'm gonna have to price an 8x10 around $60 to get anywhere near breaking even -- IF I sell any!!! lol... The prairie group gets 35 percent of the sale.

But, again, it's great exposure. And my name will be right above (alphabetical order) pro Jim Brandenburg's on the poster.
:-) Pricelesss....

The exhibit will be these places:

April 30 - May 15: Galena Territories, IL
Late May - June 14: La Crosse Pumphouse, WI
June 16 - June 30: UW-Arboretum Madison, WI
July 13 - July 30: Monroe Arts Center, Monroe, WI
August - Sept. 10: Eau Claire and/or SW WI
September 15 - Sept 30: Phipps Art Center, Hudson, WI (near Minneapolis/St. Paul)
October ?: Rochester, MN

Talk about subliminal...
Someone mentions you wearing something sexy and in your very next entry you mention getting "great exposure" not once, but twice. I think you proved my point, lol.

BTW, why does the drill of an oversized dentist sound louder?

Suddenly I'm thinking of Steve Martin with the oversize drill in Little Shop of Horrors...

Aluminum siding? Didn't think they used that anymore. Love vinyl siding. For both, I just put a circular/cut off saw's fine tooth (paneling) blade on backwards. Can't imagine vinyl making a racket though. I used the same backwards blade for the green steel roofing on my fieldstone shed. Now THAT made a racket.

THEY'RE OUT THERE (said like a scared kid in a horror movie)

But they have yet to pound. I think yesterday they started around 7:45.

Whatever the machine is, they don't use it for long. I can tell when they use a saw. It's not a saw. Like I said, sounds like an oversized drill with a "klunka, klunka" in there.

The neighbors across the street also had siding put on within the last few months. That's where I first heard the weird noise. And that was a different siding company!

My apt. buildng has an arced roof on it, kinda like a quonset hut. I suppose it takes longer to match up to that. Plus, it has a separate, lower level of a few shingles (around dormer windows upstairs)to go around...

GET DONE GET DONE GET DONE!!!!!!!

Liz we are rehabilitating an 11 story apartment highrise next door....they put a CHUTE for the debris right by my office window....a few weeks ago the hard plastic barrels of the chute failed....so they replaced them with STAINLESS STEEL....there are times I think the building is collapsing....
