BTW: In case you don't know, Fall Folliage season is probably the most expensive time (especially on weekends) to rent a room in Northern New England - and a great time to be tenting or staying in a shelter.”

“My window for the trip is shrinking a little. I'll be teaching a class on Thursday the 5th and couldn't get up to the Whites until about 6PM and have to be back on the night of the 7th. I'm putting together a walkathon for the 8th and need to be out there bring and early on that morning.”

First, this will be a Whites trip, not a Baxter trip. (Easier for me to get to from PA with limited time, and also, I assume I am way too late to get Baxter permits.)

Slight schedule change, I am planning to hit the trail mid-day/early afternoon on Friday Oct. 6, and exit the trail by mid-afternoon on Monday Oct. 9th.

Open to suggestions regarding trails. I am not looking for a butt-kicker but I do want to cover some miles.

I did a loop two years ago: Flume, Liberty, Lincoln, Haystack, Lafeyette, Garfield, South Twin, Guyot, the Bonds. I loved that but will be looking for something different.”
