I have been working an arson fire since 3AM...before that I had to check a kitchen fire of a girl who has some depression and decided to get loaded then cook some french frys...I spent most of the time (till 1AM) trying to calm her down enough to get out released from the EMS units....

“Don't worry, I make up for it at 2 AM when I work for 8 hours on a fire scene. Then I have to come in 8-5 five days a week regardless.”

“It's ok pineneedles. I screw off on here for about 6-8 hours/day then bust azz for about 3-4 hours, and it looks like I have been working all day. I think the boss is starting to figure my system out though, so a trail talk hiatus may be in the near future.”

“Gee if you gotta ask....I remember when we were interviewing inspectors. We had this one guy come in. He was a Wounded Veteran. During the conversation we covered duty hours (9 to 5 ish) but we got around to the wounds and what accomidations we had to make for him. He explained he had his GNIP GNOPS blown off in a battle in Afghanistan.

My boss (Vietnam Vet) thought a minute and said well then you can come in at 9:30 in the morning. The guy asked why and he said, "For the first 30 minutes or so we just stand around and scratch our balls."
