I have a Motorola V601 Tracfone cell phone.

It's being weird. It is on, as in showing al the stuff on the screen that it normally does... BUT I am not able to access anything.

Had a friend call me and it won't respond when I hit the buttons to pick up, or send, or look at the phone book.

It does not appear to be batteries. I have it on a charger a bunch.

Ideas? Is it just worn out?

I saw this post and your name and new you broke something again. pull the battery and put it back in a turn phone on again. If that doesn't work your phone is broke.

Lizs you could break a chunk of iron. But still love ya.

BUT... if it were the battery... WHY would I still be seeing the screen with all its information on it?? I can turn it on and off. I really don't think the battery is the problem.

ANYHOO.. smart ass youngster Flasher, lol... I called the tracfone people, talked to them... AND THEY ARE SENDING ME A NEW PHONE. I will need to send this one back in.

I even said, hey, it was refurbished, so I don't know if it's still under warranty (KUDOS to lizs for HONESTY!) and the guy said, that's OK. We'll send you a phone.

cool... if this all pans out I'm a tracfonefan (I like that as one word!) forever!

Did you even try and take out the battery. Seriously I've had my phone "freeze" on me before where I could see the screen but the phone was locked up.

My previous Verizon phone would lock up like that. The Verizon techie told me it was static build up and I had to take the battery off and touch a key to the battery connections to discharge the buildup. It was only a temporary solution, but at least I could call. I haven't had that problem with my new phone.

Talk about lame excuses.

You could have just said you didn't want to take my call.

Um...was there any "cleaning" involved prior to the problem?

Maybe it is suffering PTSD from the Mouse incident?

K and I had some problems with our phones a while back. It turns out that our phones were so old - 3 years :) - that they had to be reprogrammed to talk to the network. They did it right over the phone. Kind of cool.

by some slim chance have you locked your keys. If you have a key will be up in one corner of your phone

Anyone know of a good place to buy a new battery for my phone? I'm getting sick of the thing dieing whenever it switches to analog mode.
