Wk, we were looking at places in portage and valparaso today. The home we really liked has a ban on dogs larger then 20LBS in the community (something about people not picking up after their dogs) so that one is out as we are never gonna give up sassha.

Raining and windy here (Sacramento), snowing as low as 1000 ft (down the street). Freezing every night. No spring for us. Good news is, we'll have lots of water for stream crossings and swimming this summer. Yahoo!
I have a feeling it's gonna be a very HOT summer. Just hope it comes before July like last year. We got riped.

74 here today, and the frogs (spring peepers and some other types) started calling last night. There's a very loud frog chirruping away right outside the living room window.

Last winter was the warmest I've ever seen and this winter is out warming last year by a lot. I am wondering if we're going to get dished out by a blizzard any time, now.

So far it still seems like fall and that it will just blend right into spring.

It's going to be close to 70 tomorrow and it is going to be around 60 today.

The natives/ longtime locals I've talked to around here were surprised that it snowed twice so far this winter, and that it has been colder than usual. The temps don't settle in though; it's just a roller coaster.

I drove past a flock of about 40 robins yesterday, too.

71 in the mountains...hazy today but I didn't see a snow cap on top

The good news is that we are getting plenty of rain lately.

We got a little rain yesterday, and are expecting quite a bit more tomorrow afternoon and evening.

HPM and I (and a wonderful neighbor) got the pond liner (400 lbs) rough placed in the pond this weekend, so bring on the rain!

Actually we need water in it, to help shape and get the wrinkles out of the damn thing.

The little singer in my lotus bin (20 gallons of water and vegetation) is a southern chorus frog. It has no fear, and didn't even flinch when I picked it up to look at it, then set it back down.

30 degrees here today, a bit warm for this time of year. Two inches of fresh snow last night and today a small flock of turkeys walked by my big window, scratching and pecking for whatever they could find. Shotgun was in a remote corner of the house.

I now have 2 kinds of frogs singing out in the yard, and a flock of robins just chased off a tomcat grooming in my back yard. Considering how robins tear up yards around here, I think I'd rather have the cat around.

I think I'll go put out the pre-emergent weed control (made form corn syrup) out today, before the line of rain gets here this afternoon.
