Top O the Mornin' to you!
If I didn't have to go to work, I'd begin the day with a lovely Irish Coffee...so, who's into corned beef and cabbage...

I like corned beef, but don't really care for the cabbage.
I’ll have to pick up some Harp Lager on my way home tonight.

I like cabbage, but not corned beef!
It's Irish pub night, with an Irish band. And I'll definitely have to get some green beer...how about Guinness. Ewww, can you imagine what that would look like...total sludge, haha! I'm not really much for beer though, maybe I'll get my usual martini and tell them to throw a leprechaun in it or something, instead of olives.

100 % Irish
We got some great corned beef from a smokehouse in VT two week ago.

2 4 pounders. My wife is boiling them today.

oh. the 100% irish. 1/2 south 1/2 north

You know everything right? ;) Your poor wife. I can say this becasue I too am Irish, county Donegal, and no one can tell me anything.

Thank goodness there's some Italian and Spanish to mellow my temper a bit, lol.

I love corned beef, but it's not Irish. It's Jewish. The cabbage is wonderful with a sprinkle of salt. But by far, the soda bread is my favorite part of the traditional Irish American St Paddy's day meal. And the beer too.

It's true...corned beef is not an Irish food ones finds on a menu in Ireland...in fact. I don't remember ever eating it there...Irish stew, with lamb, is more traditional...I guess I now wonder where Americans started celebrating St Patrick's Day with corned beef and cabbage, a traditional Jewish dinner....curious....

I'd bet New York City. Lots of immigrants and Jewish folks in the ghettos.

I'm so wasted I just peed in my boss's potted plant.

Getting drunk on St. Patrick's day isn't an Irish thing either. We just stole Purim from the Jews along with the corned beef. Ever wonder why they're at about the same time?

The local grocery store has a display of "Genuine Irish shamrocks", potted plants for sale. Really now? Funny, there's 3 different varieties of the little buggers growing in my parents back yard. One with pink flowers, one yellow, and one white. Native species, too. I don't need to buy any, thank you very much.
On the flipside, the woman in line in front of me had 15 big corned beefs, a pile of cabbages, onions, potatoes, and carrots, not to mention cases of Guiness and any other brand of Irish beer available. She just got a phone call from her hubby saying he forgot to tell her a bunch of friends were coming over for a St. Paddy's party tonight. Real nice. My only concern was whether she had enough burners to handle cooking all of this. She has 2 ovens, a 6 burner stove, and 4 burners out on their gas grill. She said its not that big of a deal but her husband is dead meat tomorrow for giving her such short notice. You go girl.

Someone put a green derby on the statue of Christopher Columbus in the park next to my office. This town is overwhelmingly Italian-American. Someone is gonna be pissed!

I survived!
Paddys day was a breeze this year. We prolly had 3500 people come through the doors. We were changing a Guinness keg every 30-45 minutes. In all I think we went through 75 kegs of beer. I got there at 9:00am and left at 7:00am Saturday. It was a butt kicker. Good $$ though.
