“Just bought a pair of Steger Mukluks after experiencing mukluk-envy from Sacco's pair at the most recent FYAO. They're boocoo warm and comfortable so props to my new buddy Sacco.” 9:46:00 PM 3/17/06 “today FYAO, tomorrow the world!!!” 8:08:33 AM 3/18/06 “Steger Mukluks were last years Christmas present to myself...they were the only shoes I had at our 3 nighter in Pictured Rocks (MIchigan) 2 weeks ago..wonderful boots...worked great with snowshoes.... last edited: 3/18/06 2:15:47 PM” 2:15:10 PM 3/18/06 “Hey Swampy, How ya been?” 10:01:25 PM 3/18/06 “Warm??” 5:41:08 PM 3/19/06 “Steger Mukluks were my gift to me in December 2001. Best snow footwear I've ever owned. Not much chance the past few years to wear them in Indiana. Didn't get much wear last December in Colorado Springs either. So comfortable, and warm.” 5:52:06 PM 3/19/06 “Hey - how snug were the boots when you first tried them on?” 6:40:25 PM 3/19/06 “which style of Steger Mukluks are ya'll getting? The Steger website http://www.mukluks.com/ shows many styles. Personally I am thinking about the Yukon style.” 6:01:47 AM 3/20/06 “Mine are New Traditional in black...in snow they are the warmest boot I've ever worn..the boots fit perfectly right out of the box...they never felt snug, just comfortable. I got a great deal on mine...picked em up for $99 last December at a Christmas sale..SCORE!” 6:16:04 AM 3/20/06 “I got the Yukon Jacks. I first bought a size 12 (my normal shoe size is 11 or 11 1/2). They were way too small so I exchanged them for size 13 and they fit just loose enough.” 7:12:29 PM 3/21/06 “I have the Artic style, bought them after being very unhappy with pac boots. I got them in blue nylon uppers way back then.” 7:26:16 PM 3/21/06 “I wanted them last year, and just didn't get to it. so, after a year of wearing them, you all still like them? how many sizes bigger did you buy them? how huge does your foot look? [yes, looks are important] I am ready to give them to me as a late christmas present I guess. :D wonder if they are worth it, especially because I prolly wont wear them around SC too much. It's really not that cold here [duh] i know they have great sales a couple times a year, anyone know what month? [don't want to order today and next month is their sale, that would suck]” 5:32:59 PM 12/23/06 “just so you don't feel ignored, i'll answer this thread :) yes, they still rock. yes, i got mine 2 sizes bigger, and leave the insoles in. nope, they don't feel weird or too big. i use them as campshoes on alot of winter trips. they're so lite that i just carry them on the outside of my pack. when i get to camp i put them on. waaaay better than down booties. sometimes i just wear them the whole time and hike in them, but one problem is that they're too soft for crampons or to wear snowshoes with them from dusk to dawn. looks: i think they work for chicks just fine. they look kinda gay on guys though so i don't wear them around town.” 4:24:52 PM 12/24/06 “It's okay to look gay around the campfire? I remember the guys in germany wearing something similar in the 80's. they called it the ibiza look. don't ask me why. They all looked a little gay though. [not that there is anything wrong with that] Thanks sacco, I didn't know they where that light, that just completely sold me now. I am a 7 1/2, so I may get them in an 8 or a 9.” 6:16:56 PM 12/24/06 “eff ya, they're light! they're featherlight!” 7:23:18 PM 12/24/06
