Arlen Specter (Pa.), the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said during the testimony that "if the allegations are correct, there has been serious misconduct in what has occurred."

This remindes me of The Marx Brothers in "Night At The Opera" aboard ship ordering from the steward.

NO, the point is that Hillary did not have any infidelity.

Christians are always saying that they are imperfect sinners, yet they're always glorifying their religious moral ideals that they fail to live up to.

This situation strikes me similarly. A bunch of failures at love, yet they're still holding to their political ideals of "family values". Is this the same pattern derived from their religious beliefs?

This is THE republican party wedge issue for the upcoming election. It places a wedge between the facsist morons of the republican party, and the right-wing religious nut-jobs of the republican party. Fox Network should create a reality show by throwing these folks in the same house with each other. It would be a huge hit and generate millions. Hell, Murdoch makes huge money off these idiots as it is, why not make more.

In a second blow to House Republicans this week, the FBI raided a business tied to the family of Rep. Rick Renzi (R-Ariz.) Thursday afternoon as part of an ongoing investigation into the three-term lawmaker.

WASHINGTON - The FBI has asked U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney for information about his dealings with Jack Abramoff as part of its ongoing investigation into the lobbyist convicted of defrauding clients.

FBI agent Kevin Luebke refused to say whether Feeney, a Republican from the Orlando area, is under federal investigation.

Federal agents also have asked the St. Petersburg Times for an email sent to the newspaper by Feeney's office describing a golfing trip the congressman took with Abramoff to Scotland in 2003.

What has happened to the party of 'law & order'? Nixon was always being photographed with crowds of police (like Bush with the military).

I think they dropped that ad copy about the time John Dean testified before the Ervin Committee.... Spring of '73. They'd wheel a TV set into our AP Modern European History class to watch history unfold in realtime.

People forget that over two years elapsed from the time the DNC offices at the Watergate were burglarised until Nixon resigned: a slow-motion trainwreck.

I thought I'd turn on my fuego button for a second, so I could share this with y'all...

I work across from the state house and get to see all kinds of crazy #&%!$.

Today, there are people lined up out front with 5 foot tall pictures of bloody chopped up "aborted babies" along with signs slamming the democrats for being anti-family. There are also several buses of school children on field trips at the museum.

Not to mention the average citizen just walking along, like the lady who was trying to shield her two kids eyes and push a stroller at the same time, while walking on the only sidewalk there is...

A group of anti-abortion people were at my university last year with those huge photos.

That is a pretty awful thing to subject the public to.

I wonder just where those photos of mangled fetuses come from and if the parents of those fetuses gave permission for those people to use the photos.

They could very well be photos of mis-carriages/spontaneous abortions.
And the parents of those unsuccessful pregnacies might have something to say about the use of such photos.

i am not sure i see how the topic of copyright enters into all of this. even if the photos were being used without consent i am sure there are plenty of photos in the public domain that are as bad or worse to draw from. so this point seems rather irrelevant to me. trying to use copyright to suppress free speech, however, is clearly wrong.

There's a planned parenthood clinic down the street from us and there used to be this twat who would march along with those big pics of a baby's head on forcepts and the like. It used to really peeve me because we would frequent a coffee shop across the street with our friends and their two loved, wanted kids. I think someone threw paint on his poster and he stopped going there, thankfully.

There is an interesting parallel between anti-abortion people shoving these horrific images in other people's faces and anti-war protesters who do the same with horrific war images. Both feel they have right on their side, both feel that people aren't upset enough about the things they are upset about. And their is the same issue of disrespect for those who have a direct connection with the one's depicted.

My gut instinct is to sympathize more with the anti-war protestors - but I think that is just the bias of sympathizing more with the cause --- accepting the means because of the ends.

In my town an anti abortion group used to have a large truck with pictures like that painted on the side and drive around in it. They'd park it near major events and just go wherever they could to draw attention.

I agree Twiggy - I think people should have enough humility to realize they may not own the truth and their particular agenda shouldn't overwhelm all other considerations like reason, decency, etc.

I've always thought of the extreme anti-abortion people as "fetus-fetishists" - parading the sacred martyred fetus for all to see.

Its just nuts. Some seem to think the unborn are more important than the born. They go organizing adoptions for fertilized embryos, Screaming about the pain and the fear and the life of organisms with less complexity and less of a nervous system than the fish in aquarium.
