930V st NW

It's on the Eastern Edge of pretty damn safe. Be aware of you surroundings. No reason to go North or East of 930 after nightfall. Though I do live East. I walked home twice from a late show and consider myself very lucky.

It's pretty damn safe for a few blocks heading South on 9th, there's a little Ethiopia stretch (disregard the new sports bar). DC9 - great bar. Etete - amazing Ethiopian.

West of 9th & V on U street is pretty damn safe - heading into gentrification central. Velvet lounge at 9 1/2 & U is another great Dive. 13th & U is world famous Bens Chili Bowl - if you have the gastric fortitude.

If you take metro - use green line to U Street/African-Amer Civil War Memorial/Cardozo Station. Take 10th st exit.

Way safer than Howard Shaw exit at georgia Ave.

TMI?

Thanks man.....that took some thought to write and I was actually taking notes. I'm impressed. I'm definitely interested in the Ethiopian joint. Anything there you recommend? I dig spicy stuff, so if they have it...let me know.

BTW...now sure of your musical tastes...but the band i'm looking to see there is Rilo Kiley....totally cool band from LA and Jenny Lewis is smokin' hot...

No problem. I just reintroduced myself to the Ethiopean scene (had a bad experience a decade ago). Can't really remember what I had but it was beef and it was spicy.

Don't know her but She looks hot as hell and I see She has two nights scheduled. Must be popular. I doubt I could go see her, multiple "events" crashing in on me but let me know what night you'll be in town. I might be around.

I kept trying to like Ethiopian food, but they always seemed to use poor ingredients and cover it with spices. Not tried the one BM mentions though.

Prolly the best advice I'd give to anyone just visiting DC is to get cabs if you're leaving places late. It's going to cost you prolly 11 bucks at most to get anywhere in the middle of city.

Hey Bearmagnet!

If you are looking for work you might consider the several universities in D.C. and the many departments that each has.

Since the semester started I'm once again knocked senseless by the myriad of women who grace my place of employment.

All or most of the people I deal with really make my day in so many ways and I get so much positive response from so many.

(hey!......is that girl hitting on me?......or just being uncommonly pleasant in a teasing sort of way?)
(must maintain......eye contact!!!.....I've never seen such a perfect pair of twins!)
(oh, yes I have..............just minutes ago!)

The experience is quite up-lifting on a daily basis!

With your charm buddy, you might find it quite pleasant in a place like this.

Catholic University, for one, is up North Capitol Street and east on Michigan Avenue a bit. The busses probably run that route from your hood.
Man, they have a lot of Jersey girls there!

Why do I have a feeling MarkO is trying to release a bull in a china shop?

Well send some up my way. If they get cold, I can think of a few ways to keep them warm. ;-)

I get a lot of practice and I think the wimmins appreciate the eye contact.

I was getting treatment: 9AM-4PM. Add an hour travel time (both "rush" hours). Oy vey.

I'll look into that MarkO. I've been getting yanked by a potential job for a few months now. I want it bad - set my own hours, work from home, office 2 blocks from my apt. But I may have to let it go.

Thanks.
