Washington State. Mt Adams is my favorite. This early summer I have Adams, Hood, Stuart & a few smaller training hikes on the list. Then for August I'm climbing Rainier, (I'm a virgin on that one). Most of my time is spent on smaller local day hikes, non trail stuff. I pick up deer & elk antlers in Feb-April.

Thanks for the welcomes. I road tripped thru the Southwest and back last Sept. All of Colorado I saw was Mesa Verde. Very cool place. I had always wanted to go there and now I want to go back!

Good to have another Washingtonian here. Welcome. Beware of the crazies from back East. Since Mt Adams is your favorite, maybe you could put up a photo album of it since it's missing from the list of Washington albums.

Maybe he has a photo album of Mt Adams that's 20 years old?

Always interesting when USA comes out of hiding to welcome a new member. Where is The Black Clap nowadays? I miss that one.

Hey Hot Feet, I suggest you get in touch with USA, hike together, then post the TR and pics! Have fun, good luck, and welcome aboard!

A suspicious lot! … with good reason.

Welcome Hot Feet. There are many good trips around the country that get organized here.

I’m in Florida. If you’re down this way in winter, we’ve got some good hikes. If you’re down this way at any time during the year, there’s great kayaking to be had.

Look some of us up and join a trip. This place is full of good people with whom it is fun be outdoors.

Welcome, HF. I have met some of the nicest people and gone on some of the best group trips of my life as a result of hanging out on TT. Hope you have a similar experience.

Hey thanks for the warm welcome. I'll get some photos up just as soon as I can. Truth be told I've never loaded photos before so I may need help... anyway I look forward to B.S.ing with you all.

Someone asked how I found TT and I for the life of me can't remember what I was doing online when I stubbled into it. Oh well at least my body still works even if the brain is no longer able to.

Excellent photo album of Mt. Adams and your family. That was fast.

How are you planning on going up Rainier in August... Emmons Glacier or Disappointment Cleaver? Guide service or with friends? I've been up both routes so unsolicited advice is available. There is also a Rainier thread with some others here climbing Rainier the first week of August.

Lots of East Coast hikers - from Maine to Florida here.

There used to be a bunch of folks in the south east who called themselves the East Coast Trekkers.

Legit my eye!
He/she thinks Mt. Adams is out west somewhere.

And what's with the list of Civil War generals? Huh?

I will admit that it HAS been getting rainier here lately - looks like we're gonna get out of this drought after all...
