Mapes, there is a stray/abandoned dog in the woods next to our house. I've seen him 3 days in a row. She isnt agressive but keeps her tail tucked when she sees me- She wont let me get very close before running off to hide. She has no collar, what should I do?

Well first you want to take it w. a bow shot if you can get in range, then I would recomend stewing it w. potatos and carrots and serve it w. a hearty sour dough to sop up the juice. Be careful not to cook too fast, as this will result in tough meat. If a bow shot is not possible, then a small calliber rifle will be best (i.e. .223 JHP)
Happy stewing ;-)

THIS IS MAPLE!
if it is not bothering you, then leave it be or let time take its course and she will learn to trust you. or go get a HUMAN dog trap and trap her and take her to the shelter or try to adpot her out.

REMEBER to clip your dogs baby making stuff! it is spring and spring is in the air.

Mapes, I'm going to try to put food out there for her. Maybe that will help. She looks like an older dog, not a young one and I feel sorry for her :(

A human dog trap? Is that like if you hired some guy to lie on the ground and wait until the dog started to sniff him, then he jumped up and grabbed it?

Perhaps you could put out posters too. Also, ask the local shelters if one was reported missing fitting the description.
