Nothing Matters but the Weekend

“What are you people doing this weekend?

I am taking my two sons backpacking in WI. Leaving Friday when they get out of school and returning Sunday evening. Sure hope the weather is nice!”

“Last wknd I took my daughter and her friend to my buddies farm. The kids went wild being able to run free as far as they wanted (providing they could see the house). Got to pick up some fresh eggs to bring back and checked out the cow and pigs. Very fun to watch, I wish that was my wknd again...”

“There is a model farm at Oak Mtn SP in B'ham that we like to visit after camping. The kids love the farm animals. I'm taking week after next off and we were planning on camping there one night. I forgot that the Talladega race is that weekend so no-go on camping there and checking out the farm. Race weekend is a time to run and duck for cover.”

“Saturday, 6 hours of training for Boy Scouts Council members. In the late afternoon, my world traveling sister is coming over with maps of England to help my wife and I plan our hiking trip there.

Sunday, Folks on Spokes Easter Bicycle Ride in the morning, and fireams practise with some political activists in the afternoon.”

My kids were off from school this Friday. I went to Wisconsin to my home on the lake and de-winterized it. Lots of yard work but it's done now so I can enjoy my trip to the Porkies next weekend.”

“My kids are off school all this week. They go to a private Catholic school, and the diocese decided they needed some big conference that all the teachers needed to go to. So my kids get a second spring break.”

“I felt sorry for myself all weekend because I won't be going to the Porkies next weekend. I filed my state taxes. I did some job searching on the internet and found two jobs to apply for. I hung the tire swing for the kids. Played Easter Bunny and made deviled eggs. Did laundry. Killed my vacuum cleaner. Yeah, it was a pretty #&%!$ty weekend but that means things can only get better. “Saturday I did yard work and gave my daughter a driving lesson. Sunday morning did a 5 mile hike on the AT with my wife and two daughters and then we went home and made a nice Easter dinner.”
