I have a 1999 picture of John Denver from the Baltimore Sun dancing on the Orioles dugout.

For many years they have played "Thank God I'm A Coutry Boy" at the seventh inning stretch.

He was at a game and put on a show for the crowd........sorry I missed that.

Anyway, I found it stacked among some pieces of figured maple in my hardwood stash(ha ha ha!!!) and made a buncha color copies last year with the intention of sharing with whomever.

Anyone?

Neil Diamond's not so bad.

Sometimes called the Hebrew Elvis,

he is credited with a greater total of combined record and concert ticket sales of any musician or music goup.

WOOHOO, Kelly Clarkson!! I like her, and Mariah Carey, and Hillary Duff, and Pink, and just about any girl pop singer. I'm not ashamed though. The guy pop singers, not so much...however I do like Ashley Parker Angel. LMAO! Now that is embarrassing. I like to hear his music, but I saw his video the other day, and his face kind of makes me want to punch him a little bit.

Funny about John Denver. When I lived in Austin Texas the DJ's on my favorite country station (I think it was KOKE which has changed format since then) - used to hate John Denver and the ultra-polished commercial stuff out of Nashville as well. Sometimes at the end of a song you'd hear smashing and crashing and then the DJ would say, "Oh excuse me, I was busy with the new John Denver records that just came in." Or he'd asy to an assistant, "here find somewhere to put that cigarette out... there, why don't you use that Kenny Rodgers single." Then they'd play something from Willie Nelson, or the Flatlanders 8-track.

If loving Pet Shop Boys' West End Girls is wrong then I don't wanna be right!

If loving Sir Mixalot's Baby Got Back is wrong then I don't wanna be right!

And I can't even write out in words my last one it's so embarrassing. Hint: "Yo VIP...let's kick it."

I only have one question...
If, when, why, what, how much have you got?

I guess that's five questions.

You start feeling old when this stuff is on "VH1 Classic" and all the kids on you tube are laughing about the songs.

I agree, Smooth Operator is a great song. My only issue is that everything on the radio by her is the same song. I assume she is really more versatile than that.

"Musical Guilty Pleasure"

While I have a lot of favorites, I would have to say that a good production of "West Side Story" will always get me going.

I had the pleasure of working with one of my areas best, "unknown" musical directors, Fr. Ron Torina, from U of D Jesuit. He died two nights before opening night for the last production I did with them, "Fame" (U of D did the best production, high school or Pro, IMHO, of West Side). A truly great man, who is still missed very much.
