I'm not picking up Linus in NYC this Friday, Janet is and she's going home Saturday instead of Ithaca.”

“My grandfather just went into the hospital the other day and I'll have to go to Saginaw, Michigan for the weekend to hang with him. He has pulled through before but I have a feeling this time is different... no specific reason... just a feeling I have. Hell of a way to spend your birthday! So much for, "I should get to do what I want on my birthday." I guess sometimes that's just not the way it works... something for me to ponder... one of lifes strange workings.

Couldn't justify the time nor the expense of the trip”

we already have plans to go back yet again next year.
