How 'bout breakfast about 7 Saturday morning at the Pancake Pantry? I expect to move from Deep Creek CG to Elkmont Campground on Friday. Supper on Friday night could be a possiblilty, too.

bitpusher - Be glad to have company. I can share my site. I get them for half-price. Just let me know where and when.

chili - Maybe I'll have a chance to see you. I may go to Abrams CG after Elkmont. The purpose of crossing the mountains is to get to a Walgreen's Drug Store for some pills.

Elkmont, this weekend, sound okay? I've been looking for a trip for this weekend and since I've never been to the GSMNP, it sounds good.

There's a Walgreen's in Pigeon Forge and one in Sevierville.

Let me know where you will be next week and I will try to stop by one afternoon for a visit.

It's all true, I swear.

Does the fact that my family used to own part of it count at all?

My first job after school was with the TVA in Knoxville.
The only reason I took the job was to be near the Smokies, the very best Park in the World!!!!
Can you tell I love the Smokies? LOL

bitpusher - OK, you can set-up on my site. I can just use a small, one-person tent or a tarp, so that there will be plenty of room for you. Either look for me, Paul Johnson or ask for the site number at the campground entrance. After you feed your interests to me, I'll set your tours accordingly.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

chili - If I'm not on your front porch, I'll be at Abrams CG next week. I'll try to reach you from your business card. It appears to have different telephone numbers for T(Tuesday), M(Monday) and F(Friday). I guess those are your work days.

OK nowslimmer, thanks! I'm thinking if the weather is good, I wanna go up to Clingman's Dome, but that's just tentative. Mostly looking to get away for a little bit.

LMAO, ns.

Use the Monday number, I always answer that one.

The Tuesday number rings through to my secretary.

The Friday number has a loud high pitched squeal on it and it is hard to carry on a converstation on that line.

cyndeee - Yes, I'm still planning on "Trail Days." It would be great to see you there and back at GSMNP.

How are your knees? And do you know how trekkngirl is doing since her knee surgery? I have not noticed any posts from her recently. My knees still hurt and are very weak. I hope to start building them back up. At least I'm no longer on crutches, but I have them with me in the car. I do use my hiking stick as an aid, sometimes.

OPIE - I checked the telephone book and it appears that Chili's Friday telephone number is at Hooter's. That could account for all the noise on the line. LOL.

Hey Bit, FYI

Trails Closed
• Clingmans Dome - The paved trail from the parking area to the tower, including the route to the restrooms and the restrooms themselves, will be closed from 1 April through 13 May for repairs. Access to the Forney Ridge trail will be allowed.

We will be headed west in a couple hours.

The spring fest is in Townsend this weekend. Traffic will be bad here later this evening and tomorrow. But there is plenty of good BBQ and Mountain Music at the Visitor Center. I went over there for lunch and ate a sandwich and listened to some Bluegrass for an hour or so. Nice sunny day and about 70 degrees.

Bitpusher was here and is now on his way home. I think he left eary in a huff because I put him to work collecting fire wood and then gave him my saw to cut it. I enjoy using my disablement to advantage.

Actually, we had a good time. The weather was nice although a little cool. We had supper last night at the Smoky Mountain Brewery. Since he is a family man, I did all the checking out of the many girls there and took care of flirting with our waitress. I led him out as far as the Knoxville/Maryville Airport and am now in Maryville/Alcoa Library. Plan to head to Abrams CG.

Chili - Perhaps we should meet at the Alcoa Hooter's. How's Tuesday sometime? Since it's a family place, you could bring your family.

Just now made it home. I got a terrible sinus headache as I came into Chattanooga and had to pull off the highway and get a room for the night. I'll do a trip report as soon as I get some cleaning up done.

I had a great time with Nowslimmer this weekend! Even if he did guilt me into sawing up his firewood for him.

OPIE - Sorry we did not manage to get together. Hope you had a good hike. Did you get to CS#52? That was one of my final ones last year. It was a nice spot. I think some of old tree trunks there were from chestnut trees.

bitpusher - It was nice to see you. Thanks for coming. Sorry you were not able to get home in one shot. Hope you're feeling better. BTW, I discovered my tent bag under a tarp in the car's trunk. That's one of the things which I thought might be helped by taking the memory pills. But all is well. Abrams Creek was nice and quiet last night. I plan to hike a couple of miles there this afternoon. Walgreen's did not have a new prescription from my doctor, yet.

Smokygirl - We missed you this weekend. How 'bout having a meal together some day this week?
